Drainer had clips from shadowlands for playing hpala in arena from first pov and with a xbox controller for fun, could look for that one aswell. There is even ui addon for controller, who knows could probably be something already or in future for vr too. But you will still be in disadvantage if not able see around character from 3rd pov constantly

Of all the threads Ive ever made… I feel like this one is the one i took the most care of if that makes sense x)

But it is time for me to leave the thread and let the forums take its course. I cant jump in and like correct people on their views… I wanna hear them all.

I wanna see what the wow people think about VR for real.

Please general discussions forum. Talk about this topic as you like. Id really like to see what you all think about VR and where you stand on the matter.

I will leave my own thread for now. And only read what input and takes and views you guys have.

Not any time soon.

It has never appealed to me. I don’t know why exactly, it sounds very cool in theory and yet… no. I get motion sickness and migraines very quickly in general, 3d movies were definitely not my thing either. I tried a friend’s VR headset years back and it made me feel sick at the time.

I can imagine walking through games is awesome tho. A calm tourist mode might work for me lol, I don’t know. Actual gameplay sounds like a recipe for injuries and nausea

Only one thing really came to my mind related vr and its not for mmo. But who knows, maybe there is market for first person view mmos aswell. I only care of pvp and for pvp first person is extremely bad camera angle :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

VR is probably the the best value for money in gaming grades.
If your PC is VR ready go for it and enjoy.

What about the meta-verse?

Damn reality getting in the way.

VR experience is great, but there are too many negatives to make the experience enjoyable.

Albeit I have the original oculus rift, so cables are a thing. The amount of free space required is way too understated. Majority of UK houses are far too small to make this feasible.

Then there’s motion sickness that you have to endure. Some people are more tolerant than others, but my sister for example felt ill for hours after trying it for just a few seconds. It didn’t affect me in that way, but it did make my eyes feel extremely tired.

At the end of the day it’s too much hassle and now its just an expensive item gathering dust.

How would VR work in terms of the most demanding gameplay?

Take for example Zek ?.? as melee. When I’m killing the egg and Zek starts his cone attack and then his self heal, how would that work in VR? Would I need to constantly look over my shoulder to see what Zek was doing?

Also, if I’m PvPing against a player and I’m in VR and they’re on a kb and mouse, will I be able to compete? Or would I get pwned because my interaction speed was too slow.

I can’t imagine it taking over anytime soon, or being the only option, but to be fair Skullfox did say “next gen”. I don’t see how they would ever get over the challenge of having enough keybinds.

I don’t know how it would work, but I know what would happen to me… I’d look up from giving 100% of my attention to the egg, see the incoming, unavoidable claw smash inbound in glorious 3D VR and, quite literally, soil my pants.

The Quest 4 is going to have this big pin that goes into the back of your head, matrix style.
No need for keybinds, you just think it.

Next gen MMO will actually be powered by Neuralink. You just lie down and it’ll override all your senses and body movements, transporting you into a virtual world, then bug out and accidentally trap you in there. Gz, permanent WoW with full physical sensations.

Can’t wait to be hamstrung.

God I would sell my soul for that.

In 20 years you probably can…

We were supposed to have it in May 2022!!!
All we got now is some stupid American company making brain chips…

And that same man got bored of waiting for NASA.

I mean I’m pretty bored of them delaying every launch until we’re all dead and buried, but he got REAL bored.

I think its safe too asume that a vr mmo would need to be suited for vr controller use. If we ever got a wow 2 and it happens to be vr. the gameplay and abilities we would use would be different from what we have in mind today I think.

Casting spells and abilities would have to be re imagined completely. I still have to play the mmo keento suggested. See how they go about it

Ah yes, good old “next gen”. Last decade’s “next gen” of gaming turned out to be kids playing meme-filled, user-created Roblox games on potato laptops or their parent’s 10 year-old gaming rig cast-offs.
