[Night Elf/Worgen-RP] A New Moon

Well, I don’t really see a reason a Gilnean could NOT attend. Altho, not my event, so i may be wrong.

Great event!

Having attended it with a manner of apprehension at what I saw on here, I can say only one thing. Words were mistaken, and it seems the blanket “no one except X allowed!!!” was a misunderstanding following a single individual.

It was wonderfully atmospheric and very immersive to see each character offering sacrifices give their perspective on the war, on the reason of choice to their offering, and for the overseeing Priestess to give her words as to what will come of this.

Awesome event guys, I really do hope something like this can happen again in the future!

Hi all! Thank you for attending if you did. Let me elaborate on a few things.

From the beginning, this event was advertised for Night Elves and Worgen – it’s in the thread title, after all. Furthermore, from an IC perspective, it makes little sense to allow people into a ritual where we ask for and receive a blessing from Elune if they do not worship her. This is particularly because of the ancient nature of this ritual and its implications – she rewards Her followers for bringing them Her enemies.

Humans and other races are unlikely to follow Elune, so they are therefore not welcome from an IC perspective. Worgen have a unique connection with Elune insofar as that they carry Her blessing via the scythe’s ritual.

Additionally, as the ritual is of a darker, more secretive nature, and is spread through word of mouth among the kaldorei and worgen on Kalimdor, it makes it difficult to believe that any other races would reasonably hear of it – and even if they do via IC happenings, their watchful gazes would not be welcome if they are not participating in the ritual. Again, this is because the ritual is of a dark, savage and secretive nature.

Again, who is and isn’t allowed is all from an IC perspective – if, for example, you’re a gilnean without the curse, you would likely also be welcomed due to their unique relationship with the kaldorei and their help in the War of Thorns. It is unlikely, however, should it be apparent, for a worshipper of the Light to be welcome, as the Church of the Light from a canonical perspective refutes Elune as a deity (see: Anduin).

In essence, this is exactly true – everything was dealt with and viewed from an IC perspective.

Thanks!

Late but never too late!

I enjoyed attending this event on my kaldorei priestess. It was simple yet very immersive and allows for a chance for characters to make their intentions known therefore ultimately, develop as one.

This has been a theme, I noticed, quite evident from public events hosted by Hand of Cenarius and groups associated with them. Events are not over the top, allows certain freedom in participation, not exhausting, but are always quite satisfying. I’m very glad I joined this one and I’m looking forward to joining more.

Cheers!
