Night Warrior Eyes IC - What Now?

Hi guys! Sorry in advance if this topic’s already been discussed elsewhere, I couldn’t really find anything.

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea what’s going to happen with the night elves that got the dark eyes during the Darkshore campaign now that Tyrande is basically back to her old bright-eyed self.

I’m not holding out any hope that Blizz is going to enlighten us on this matter, so I imagine most people are going to roleplay their own headcanon when it comes to this. If you’re one of those people, what are your plans for your character’s Night Warrior eyes?

Good call

I don’t play a nelf anymore at this point in time but if I did I guess it’d depend on how vengeful my char still is at that point in time. While Tyrande might be victim to blizz turning a switch and having her abandon justice wholesale this needn’t apply to player characters.

Guess it just kind of comes down to:
is your character still fuelled primarily by vengeance?

Fair enough, I guess it will come down to player choice in the end. And it’s probably for the best, affords people a chance to make that transition through a meaningful story.

I had assumed that the eyes were a result of witnessing the ritual and nothing more. So I’ll just leave them on for my character that was present.

yeah it really doesn’t help that we don’t know exactly what caused them :pensive:

Clarification on night elven motives?
They joined the Alliance because… ahem
They have Night Warrior eyes because - hey look over there!

I hate how accurate this is…

Since the power came from Elune’s vengeance and Eluvanas is now going to be seeking vengeance against the Jailer I can only assume the power remains intact for those who want it.

Didn’t Tyrande keep the Night Warrior powers, but lost everything associated with that appearance?

Eitherway its a shame, Tyrande looked freaking badass as Night Warrior😔

At any rate: my Warrior will keep his Night Warrior eyes, especially since he still burns with a desire to take revenge on the Horde!

Did she? I imagined she lost the power boost alongside the appearance. Kinda the point of removing the empowerment that was killing her.

I guess one of the more ‘interesting’ ways to handle it would be something like: if the night elf continues to burn with the desire for vengeance, spooky eyes are maintained. If, like Tyrande, they’re minded to choose renewal, then their eyes return to normality/adopt that lunar blue colour.

Of course, vengeance and renewal don’t need to be mutually exclusive – especially when slaying the people who caused this awful hardship for the night elves remain a threat and block any true revitalisation. But, y’know, it is how it is.

I’ve warned you!

I think whatever choices players make for their night elf characters will be a valid one. Just hope that Blizzard don’t give an answer, because they’ll almost certainly bugger it up.

Oops sorry I dropped this :salt:

something something it was void corruption all along something something black eyes evil

Boy I sure am glad I can almost predict Blizzard going that route all the way back in BfA (because it was 100% going to be temporary and how will you get ppl move away from it? make it evil!), so I never made my Night Elf black eyed :sunglasses:

Yeah, Blizz really seems to want to take night elves away from the savage forest dwellers they (imo) were originally envisioned as and towards a more nature loving, peaceful race.

In any case, I like your point about their eyes maybe turning a shade like Tyrande’s afterwards, never really thought about it.

BfA provided a brief respite when the Night Warrior lore sort-of pushed at least some Night Elves into behaving how they were in WC3.

I will miss it :pensive:

Rule of cool, dude. They look badass! I know story should come first, but I’m not ashamed to admit I base a lot of her backstory on her physical appearance xD

I just didn’t want to create a situation in the future back in BfA where I’d have to retcon void eyes because I didn’t want to get into that at all.

Turns out, wouldn’t have mattered cuz I quit before lmaoooo

You could say that Blizzard is going to leave the black-eyed Nightelf RPers in the dark.
