Greetings everyone!
After changing professions, the recipe Recipe: Void Focus is no longer dropping for either Blacksmithing or Engineering.
I have already completed the Through the Darkness quest and all its upgrade levels. My character has also fulfilled all the requirements for the recipe to drop (including completing the Visions of N’Zoth campaign).
Despite repeated attempts over a long period of time, I’ve had no luck obtaining the recipe again. In my case, this means thousands of mobs farmed — including countless K’thir Thoughtstealer, Executor of N’Zoth, Black Empire Summoners, Black Empire Beheader, Acolyte of N’Zoth, Black Empire Conjurer and many more — not to mention rare elites like Brother Meller, etc.
Comments on Wowhead suggest I’m not the only one experiencing this issue.
All sorts of superstitious tricks like keeping the cloak and necklace in your inventory or wearing them while farming obviously don’t help (but hey, some still believe in that😅).
Support just gives the default response: “There are no known issues; everything should work as intended. Check the forums or try buying the recipe from the Auction House.”
Yes, really — they actually suggested I just buy it from the AH. Kek.
Other threads I’ve visited regarding this situation but haven’t seen any brilliant answers, hopefully this one will answer me…
