No flying in 8.1.5, but some portal removal

the main problem quite possibly is how spread out everything is. especially in Dazar’alor. and very especially when you compare it to boralus.

you can take something like the human city of Divinity’s Reach in GW2, and have loads of empty buildings or just repeated buildings where you can just explore if you are bored.

BUT if you NEED something, like the bank, the quest hub, the mission table, whatever, they should all be together, or at least in easy to find places like sw originally divided up into the districts.

and yes, blizzard seem to have messed up making cities more often than not :frowning:

That depends on people, I mean we have three hearthstones and all previous hubs will lead to SW/Org at the very least. Places like CoT you wont be able to portal them to which is what seems to be causing the most upset and they may see the feedback and add a way to CoT as a compromise.

There are lots of items in the game that can teleport you. I have a vast collection of cloaks, rings, gizmos that will take me to various parts that I’ve not felt the need to use because we just play portal jokey instead.

I have paid mages in the past to get to Dalaran or Shrine to set up base there due to the portals and ease of moving about, none of those portals have had level restrictions so even when low it’s been nice to use as a hub. We will just be able to reach the portal hubs in our capitals now.

Give 100 slot bag for all portal items cuz my 30 slot bags are too small for every ingame item.

Yeah there are so many of the poxy things, unless they make them all toys, it’s too many to carry around.

Also what puzzles me about the whole thing is that they are removing portals to some destination, in order to make the world feel wider, when at same time grouping all the portals remaining in one spot. So instead of going to different places to grab a portal, we’ll all gather in one place.
Secondly they recently added Dark iron Dwarf which racial is to be able to make mole machines to port conveniently to different places around Azeroth, without using any mounts.

So Dark Iron Dwarf mage is the new way to go according to Blizzard?

Can DID’s be Mages? Ultimate power!

It seems, so but that is only usefull if you want to collect cloaks, cloth, wands, daggers, 1-handed swords, staves and offhands for mog… DI mage with engineering it is then, along with buying every teleport item you can’t create a portal to!

Yes they can :sunglasses: https://www.wowhead.com/dark-iron-dwarf-allied-race-leveling-guide

Btw think over before buy that ring that can port you to Boralus, it can seem useful now, but once they’ll remove portals from next expansion it can get very useless.

It would also be useful if Blizz divided toys from usable items, for which they could create their own separate tab.

Edit: typo

Oh hell yeah… like they could divide flying mounts from ground mounts…

I bet they dislike the word “convenient” there.

Categories would be great.

Wanna trade? I’ll take the big pretty tower over a cramped dark room with spikes (again).
For real though, aesthetically speaking? Those new portals are top notch. I love how the mages have different particules effect depending on their race (fire portal for the blood elves!).

Haha… ha. O memories, so much memories. (Though it was to tame a Silverpine black worg on a lvl 13 night elf hunter. So much death. So much.)

Anyhow, I don’t mind too much the removal of the Caverns of Time portal (don’t misunderstand me, I would still prefer for it to stay but Uldum portal and Silithus one are close enough), but I sincerely believe that Crater of Dalaran and Karazhan should have stayed. Particularly Crater of Dalaran! For without those two, there is not much reasonable way for the Alliance to go in the north of the EK (flight path across an entire continent are very long), and Karazhan as a similar reason but for the Horde and the south of EK. Though in fairness, we have a zeppelin not too far.

Also, still firmly believe that we should not be forced into just one capital. Let us spread, and let us choose which aesthetic we love the most to make our hub damnit! (This was sponsored by the club of “Oh god, I’m so tired of human/orc stuff”)

Blizzard is working on a new meme, the good old “Do you guys not have phones” is outdated and now they roll with “Do you guys not have mages”

Of course we are not happy about losing portals
We are just like the monkey that does not want cucumber anymore if it knows there are grapes.

Only if you are an idiot. You could use your new Dala hearthstone from wherever you are, then use the CoT portal there.
There is also portals to both Dala’s from Org and plenty of toys etc that get you to Org even if that isn’t where you HS is set.
So the removal of CoT is just an annoying way to add a few minutes to every DS run and the fact is Blizz know this. Pretending they don’t is childish.

Ok probably they wanted to rearrange the portals situation. And i admit this is understandable.
But still i cant understand why. The game needs many changes and updates and improvements. This wasnt one of the things i would have put at the top of the list.

It seems to me like they are trying to re-introduce some classic elements into the game (no flying, no portals convenience) when Classic is literally months away.

Why they just don’t keep those things for those who enjoy them that way for Classic and leave the game as it is for the rest of us? (minor the bugs they should have fixed by now and all the other stuff we asked them to fix but didn’t listen because they were fixing some stuffs they never needed fixing instead)

they do not get that the classic elements are incompatible with the chore endgame we have these days.

mah i dont think these “improvements” are related. the problem is BFA is the extrame delay of the content. The gated content situation is totally out of control. And the flyin (and i dont care about it - neither when i have to do half of the TSound territory just to deliver a quest for horde campaign) is pushed with no reason (imho). In legion was released on 30th of march.
I dare to say all the contortion Blizz had in the last months are delayin all the content (races and flyin in primis)

Congratulations for only reading in the thread what you wanted to, and not reading the whole conversation that took place.

Well done.

If you’d managed to read a little further you’d actually have seen the conversation had moved on from that.

But by all means don’t pass up the opportunity to have a dig at someone just because you missed the boat.
