We had it since warcraft 3. And it was a mass ressutection
This also happened in Season 1 and is due to Delves rewarding better gear. In fact there is no reason to run anything below a +6 because Tier 11 Bountiful Delves 100% guarantee 645 equipment, while even M+6 has only 40% chance of dropping one for you.
That makes a ton of sense. hadnât connected the dots, but it explains a lot.
Still weird as hell seeing completely dead queues
Iâm doing some keys on my VDH (highest Iâve done is +5) and I canât believe anyone even signs up.
Delves killing the entry level key scene makes me think Blizzard may just add some kind of ability to select keystone level.
I mean it could happen. And then Blizzard will introduce Legendary difficulty and Legendary+, an infinite scaling dungeon system that works without an LFD queue.
You seem to be completely ignoring the one key point in favor of explaining how the LF(x) system worksâŚ
That being that nobody will ever find a group if there are no tanks and healers in the queue.
And as it currently stands, neither tanks nor healers have any reason to do so, simply becauise they can already run whatever key they want, whenever they want. Nor are they the ones asking for it 2x /week, but exclusively DDs complaining about not being able to find a group.
Expanding LF(x) to M+ is doomed to fail for that reason alone.
We already have half a dozen threads /week suggesting everything under the sun (with the exception of playing a tank /healer yourself and /or simply treating them like human beings and not NPCs) to âimprove the amount of tanks and healers in M+â⌠everything from giving mages and warlocks tank and heal specs to increasing rewards for tanks and healers.
And adding a random queue will merely serve to further underscore the issue, because again, why queue random if I can already choose my key like a child in a candy store with a loaded black Mastercard?
Itâs jsua complete waste of development resources to not actually solve a problem but merely relocate it⌠but then at least teh whining won´t be âI keep getting declined because I´m not metaâ but will then be âI have longer queue times than I do workdaysâ. And then once again everyone will ask Blizzard to solve the problem, and the only viable solution left is to then make them into high level follower dungeons, with an according cut to the rewards otherwise nobody will run normal M+ anymore.
just find some friends to run dungeons and all your problems are solved
Well my friend , thatâs the only solution , you can never make tanks more appealing so they become popular as dps numbers , there was a shortage in every expac for tanks , and will always be , there will be systems where you get so much more stuff if you queue up as a tank or a healer my dude , you just said that without thinking about what else could be done , maybe you get a 100% drop chance if you tank on the dungeon if there is a tank shortage , maybe you get double crests , maybe you get a bag of 5k gold for multiple dungeons , rewards incentivize playing roles , a lot of stuff could be done.
That is an assumptionon your part⌠and it´s not true, because the fact of the matter is that you will not be able to offer a reasonable incentive that actually works by simply providing more of teh same and not incvesting significant though on that endâŚ
Let´s take your oh so common examplesâŚ
And If you´re running >10s, you most likely need neither, unless the drop is a Myth piece And even offering that just once a day tips the reward scales way too far, that´s 7 guaranteed myth pieces /week. SO many will run it for 2-3 weeks, and then they have their gear and can unsun until next season, thereby depleting the pool of tanks and healers even further.
This assumes the run is actually completed, which is far from a guarantee⌠And is also generally much more likely, especially at the keylevel it actually becomes relevant at and that people are asking for LFM+ at, if I simply hand pick a group to run with.
Tha´t s where the problem lies, short of a guaranteed myth drop, there is no reasonable incentive. And if you tune down the frequency to something reasonable, like 1x /week (which will ibevitably still cause endless whining from people refusing to tank or heal), then still you´ve done next to nothing to solve the problem but put the equivalent of a band-aid on an open fracture because even 100k tanks 1x /week is a joke compared to the amount of runs people are trying to get.
So that leaves us with âA lot of stuffâ as the only truly viable option⌠and, I mean no disrespect with this, I challenge you to name ONE realistic thing that does not:
- Break the economy by offering massive gold incentive
- Break gearing
- cause endless strive among people not tanking and healing becaus etehy can´t get it
- be laughably bad
I´m sorry to say this but it appears that I´ve invested significantly more thought into this concept that you appear to be willing to.
That is all âyourâ opinion.
There are all kinds of reasons tanks or healers will do so:
- lower item level or score tanks and healers that rejected by pugs
- new tanks/healer that refused by pugs
- tanks and healers boosting their friends
- queuing any specific dungeons without a key
- no need to move to dungeon and summon
- goodie bag and gold reward for tanks/healers in random queue
âŚ
In sum, you donât want to queue LFD. but it doesnât mean others will not do it.
It takes 0 development resource. The dungeons are there already, and LFD system are there. Introducing LFD to M+ waste no resource.
It is the only way to boost M+ participation and Blizzard will 100% do it.
This is complete hogwash.
The current LF system exists specifically for trivial content where everybody is by default overtuned and group composition matters as much as what teh tankâs cousin´s dog had for lunch 3 weeks ago.
The difference is thet can not outgear a +12, and group composition becomes crucial, or do you honestly think you´ge going to time or even com plete it with 3 warlocks a Prot warri and a Holy priest? No Bl, no reasonable amount of kicks⌠But hey, 3 CRs⌠yeah sounds like this will be an easy +3
I´m sorry, but âyourâ opinion is based on an ideal world with cake and rainbows, and completely ignores the actual reality of the situation. The only place it might concievably works is in low keys, where it´s not even needed to begin with.
Unless you invest significant dev resources into making sure the group has things like kicks, Bl and a cr, none of whichis the case in LFG /LFR⌠and then what happens? Everybody complains that the system is blocking them out because they chose a class that offers none of the above.
Otherwise, it will just be nothing more than a easy way to farm deserter debuffs and give teh same people now complaining that tehy cant frind groups a new thing to whine about, than being âThe LFG tool put me in a failgroup that couldnât even kill the first boss and now I have a deserter debuffâ
You can believe whatever you want, but LFG for M+ will never be a realistic concept, especially not before it even exists for M0.
Ahh yeah complaning about meta classes not like this season is probably where the most amount classes(specs) gets playtime.
lol, weâll see.
Well Blizzard will have to do what they did early cata and some LFR bosses.
Nerf the out of so even a drunk
with a broken keyboard can +3 it easilyâŚbut if that happens then rewards will get greatly reduced to LFR levels to âcompensateâ.
Ofc we will get Lilith and the like who will run in screaming and whining that they cant get their mythic pieces while they cut their toenails and watch netflix on the other screen so Blizz only cares for the â0.1% tryhardsâ.
He has done +10 now, so he is getting that juicy Mythic loot so I expect him to bring back his âPeople just want a free carryâ bit.
I think the drunks may be able to do +12 with lots of Mythic gear. 660 people are melting stuff in +10. In mostly 678 gear I think clearing all +12 may be a real possibility.
YeahâŚtill the next season when he wont be able to brute force the new +10s again and the whining will restart
Because âmetaâ is defined at the very top by the teams pushing the highest keys.
Imagine you decide on your characters, decide with friends who plays what, gear those characters, learn everything there is to know, and then blizzard decides to change things every 2 weeks.
In each patch there is a âclearâ meta, that blizzard purposely only nerfs/buffs classes just enough to close the gap but not change the rankings. They only change the ârankingsâ (meaning the best/meta specs) between patches with reworks, or between seasons.
And this happens for a reason. Gearing in wow for BiS takes many weeks/months, they do not want to invalidate that time spent.
Sorry but what you are describing is just not feasible. The meta is âdecidedâ by a few teams that push the highest keys. If you ACTUALLY make balance tuning every 2 weeks, two things are probably going to happen to the teams that spent all that time gearing their characters, making tactics with that group in mind, and learning those specs to the max:
- Just decide to ignore tuning and just push as much as the can with their own comp (something that already is happening to a degree).
- Just stop playing if they see that the changes punish them/invalidates their investment.
I rarely argue this but for this specific question I will ask:
Why should Blizzard care for a few âno liferâ teams?
Not my point exactly. It is not the team themselves that they should care about, it is what the specs blizzard has designed are pushed to the extreme.
It is not that they care what X,Y, or Z players does as a person, but they care if fire mage or uh dk can do X amount of stuff (be it burst, sustained, defensives, utility), and is too far away from what they deem âallowedâ. And that is without factoring in community preception.
But my point is that OPâs goal of balancing/changing the meta every 2 weeks is just bad for the game as a whole.
Just like 2 weeks ago or so, where he claimed the recent most succesfull addition to WoW was all the super casual stuff like Devles, MoP Remix and Anniversarsy event, only to default back to his âBlizzard only creates content for the 0.1%â 2 Replys later.
