First of all people need to learn differences between:
Insults = directly harras player
Curses(bad language) = its like you lose ball in football and in affect type some short curse, or just angry because situation
You cant expect people to pat you over your head when you die without using your major defensive cooldown, this really induce rage, I usualy not rage, not insult, Im disciplined to do so, but when I lose 4-5 games with guys who not use defensives, its hard to resist to not curse…Just watch football or olympic sports those guys curses as well but do not insult.
in addition you have profany filter on by default, if you turn it off this means you dont mind to see some bad words and curses.
If you ask me insults and curses shoud never fell in same category, so if player get reported for insults, account silence is legit, if guy get reported for curses than account silence is really unfair.
Swearing is also considered against the game rules. The profanity filter is to protect players against those who were to use swear words on purpose despite this.
Again you cant expect people to pat you over your head, and clap to you when you die without pressing bubble… its natural to be rude and curse in those situation…but its not OK for anyone to insult… Why you turned profany filter off if you cant stand rude words? just turn it back and you are good. Complaining about bad language and rude words while you turned off profany filter makes you hypocrite.
True story: We had local priest which loved to play football, we often called him to play with us. Once I steal ball from priest and scored goal, and priest cursed, in that moment as kid I was stunned, how priest can curse, but than I understood he cursed just in affect. See no one is completly immune to curse in affect.
What you do locally is your local customs. What you are to understand is that this is the Blizzard code of conduct everyone has agreed to read and abide to.
And as I have posted above: This is to protect minor children who may not understand and others who may not want to see it or even get it bypassed by those who think it’s funny or ‘edgy’. Any bans that arise from such reports are valid and upholded along the line.
I remove the profanity filter to talk to friends without me having to write . for when I say some words which isnt insulting or rude just how I speak to friends.
That does not excuse me to be rude or curse at people because I feel like it at other people. Id rather just say it infront of my screen if I have to since it doesnt hurt anyone.
Profanity filter is not there for you to use it however you want it. Saneko pretty much said it, you agreed to rules. Follow them and understand the game is not only for you.
So your friends are allowed to curse and you dont mind…but when you die without using bubble and deny your ally rating and points you doing grudge against him and when he write a single curse you are happy to report? And in your eyes community is rude? but you are not rude when you ruin your ally a wining game?
Again Im against insulting, however random cruses and bad language shoud not fall under ToS, all those who complain have profany filter, otherwise its just hypocrite stuff, reporting someone for saying random bad language without direct insult, while in same purposly turning off profany
Dont pretend to be holy pope when you purposly turned this filter off, people who turn profany off shoud not be able to report anyone for bad language. For insluts and harrasment yes but not for bad language, learn the difference and weight of each. Currently people are abusing system and innocent people geting silenced, that shoud be punishable as well, because its same category as cheating if you abuse system for your own gain.
i was in a shuffle where a ww monk was dieing right and left every fight without doing anything to keep himself alive, and healers were getting frustrated with him
when it came to my turn to play with him, i typed :
“hay monk. you are doing great. keep it up”
i was being half positive, and half light jabby with him
He giggled a bit. I think he took it lightly…idk.
Anyways, im at the mercy of his feelings hopefully not getting hurt, and how he took it. So depending on his emotional level at the moment i typed my comment, i could, or could not potentially be enjoying a 1 week ban from accessing my paid service.
Are you really trying to make it like theres no difference between talking to friends and strangers you have absolutely no clue who they are? Stop trying to justify cursing or being rude to people.

I highly doubt all you ever said were “omg” but that doesnt even matter. You got silenced as a warning. Thats it. System is not perfect, but you have to accept the rules.

I not justify insults, but I justify if someone curses, its his own culture and bonton, if you not like it you can turn profany on not report, bad language and insults are different like earth and sky. Again even best sport people curses if they miss goal, but they do not insult.

I pay sub as same you do, and I pay it since day 1 of vanilla, its not fun at all to be silenced by hypocrits similar as you because you guys feel offended because someone typed “OMxG” in chat after you screwed game spectaculary multiple times, while in same time you curse god himself with your friends, report system yes, but then please allow people to counter-report and defend their position, to see what situation happen so you cursed, not carry automated silences.
Current system is TRASH and easy abusable, it work like this: Anyone can report you for anything, even if you outplay them, even if they not love your transmog, if they got community behind them you gonna eat account silence… once enough reports is gathered, GM will just quckly scan your chat, if he find any bad word in your past conversation which is not even relevant to current situation (As I said OMxG is enough), he will cary silence punishment, so basicly to not get silenced you need to be holy pope, and we are all mortals.
