Im waiting riots, I think I will have that sooner than wow 2. Even tho they announced set backs start of this year I think theyre back to full production again.

A shame, but not surprising. There’s 0% chance we’ll get a WoW 2 before the World Soul Saga-trilogy has concluded, which means we’ll be waiting for at least 6 more years.

After that it’s anyones guess, but that would be the perfect opportunity for Blizzard to launch WoW 2 - assuming they ever will.

With the recent lay offs in riot i wont expect it too soon .my friends joke that both ashes of creation and league of legends mmorpg are fighting to see who makes the product out first in public

I said before and i’ll say it again. WoW2 will only happen when we don’t care anymore.
We are nowhere close. It will never happen over story reasons like some like to think.
It will only happen when we don’t play the game anymore. At that point revenue and new content will slow down to a point where making expansions the size we have today is not viable from a ROI point of view anymore. At that point we will still migrate to F2P and smaller patches. Once that has run it’s course then WoW2 may happen.

We are naturally very far from that and no, it isn’t going to happen in 6 years.
We were closer to it in shadowlands than we are now. It will require a few stinker expansions in a row to get there.

wow is literally the only game that can still demands subs + paid exps + paid services … and people literally throw money each time (even when they shouldn’t pre-order). why spending money to make wow2 when you can upgrade the current system for improvements?

I doubt there will ever be a wow 2.

If there is it will be a vastly different game and probably wont live up to expectations.

We dont need a wow 2. And making a wow 2 is a huge risk, how many would change over? Would all your collections follow you over?
I have played wow for 20 years. And it is my mmo of choice, and the next mmo must be really ground breaking and amazing for me to change over. And start it all over. Or wow must become so trash that it is basicly unplayable.

Cant wait to have new version of this game with better engine that can utilize more than 1 core efficiently, cant wait!

It will be cancelled in 2 years when they are still nowhere near release. That’s what they stated anyway. So, it’s a coin toss. :sweat_smile:

As for Ashes of Creation: I have zero interest in it. It has too many things I downright hate.

Even if they have plans for WoW2 and are actively working on it, they would still deny for two reasons:

  1. to not kill the hype for the remaining expansions of the existing client. (let’s be real, wow2 announcement would for some players diminish interest in existing client, and some might decide to stop playing until wow2 is out)
  2. just in case something unpredictable happens and project gets cancelled.

Theoretical WoW2 will not be announced until it’s almost ready.

I don’t even understand what WoW 2 is supposed to be - is it just “WoW, but more than 10 fps when 40 players are zerging a world boss”? Or is it all the mechanics and gameplay of WoW, but with all the existing lore deleted?

These days IP is far, far more important to the big wigs than quality of output, so I very much doubt that Blizz would sacrifice the IP to improve quality.

We’ll never see a WoW2.

People talk about the RIOT MMO, that they’re making. It will be overhyped as normal with any new MMO and people will repeat the same phrase “the new wow killer”.

People need to understand that the only killer of WoW is Blizzard themselves. We’ll see WoW go F2P before that time comes.

But I do hope the RIOT MMO will be enjoyable, whenever it comes out, that’s if they don’t cancel it, RIP Blue Protocol :cry:
