Germans and the French get their own realms because of a supposedly large (enough) community of them to support it, and for anyone familiar with them, their unwillingness to try to communicate in anything but their native language.
Why is it we are all put in the same BG’s? They are taught English in school to my knowledge, but they choose not to use it.

Whats the point of this? Do you want to be able to read how they blame you for loosing the bg? Almost 90% of chat in BG is just trashtalking and crying why one does not get carried.
We’re also taught French in school(In the UK) , doesn’t mean that we have to speak it.

That’s far too a reasonable point for OP
I’m french and I speak english everytime in BG, as well as the others french people I play with. Also I usually see others french from others guilds or servers doing the effort quite often to communicate with foreigners.
But you may also understand that no matter if you play with british, germans, french, spanish, italians, etc, everyone has the right to speak the language he wants in a EU cross-realms BG system, whatever if this leads us to a winning or a losing game.
I rather have dutch speaking players showing good teamwork than english speakers insulting others while running on roads like headless chickens in Arathi, for example (I have nothing against Dutch ! I’m just totally ignorant about this language and always have hard time understanding a single word…)

I mean i didnt get taught French in school and i’m from the UK. But sure.
I was under the impression that most UK schools taught at least one language be it German/French/Spanish?
I mean personally in my school we were forced to do English, German, French and Latin as outside languages, although we were able to drop 2 after 3 years, and carry the last two for another 3 years.
Aye i was forced to do Spanish. My Mrs was German.
Ignore me im just being facetious.

You realize there are people that never learned English an choose a German or French server so they can communicate in their native language?
And I think that’s fine. Have german and french servers, sure, but let them PvP with people who choose that respective language as well.
Eh, you get a choice.
My school only offered French for instance though xD.
Nope. It’s completely different in the UK you get taught French and Spanish from secondary school onwards and usually have to choose one of them or none of them as a lesson to get a GCSE in after 3 years in secondary school for the remaining two years. This isn’t enough time to become truly fluent in the language. At least that was my experience though it may be outdated now.
Meanwhile Germans and French are taught English from an earlier age.
But by definition you only notice those foreigners who choose to speak their native tongue. It might well be that a vast majority of them communicate in a perfectly fine English, you would just have no way of knowing they are German/French.

Other than the fact they are playing on a German or French realm…
I know, I do live in the UK.
We were only offered French, it depends on what region/school in the UK that you live in.
2-3 years learning a language is plenty, just you don’t have enough lessons to speak fluently in them, so most of the time people don’t take notice in these classes.
Yeah, technically correct, but if you are playing a BG and somebody reacts in chat in English, you have no reason to focus on his realm and what is it’s language region. I mean, you could, buy why? You’d only notice if they spoke German or French, thus confirming the bias.
I think they should just make separate groups like with the Russian groups

This should have been the case from the start
“Why don’t you learn our language as we did with yours ?”
Because with that rationale I would have to learn French, German, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Portuguese etc just to name a few or we could all just speak English which most of these countries know and can speak fluently.
Personally I would like French players removed from the pool and they can only play with other french players or against the rest of the EU like Russians. Germans on the other hand I never have a problem with as they tend to be able to communicate well in English.
No problem about that.
You can’t ask people to learn your language while you don’t speak theirs. That’s all.
