Hi there,
I am playing WoW on and off since ages, but never wondered about this until now.
Does the rewards scale with the character level?
I mean effectively, whether the rewards of a quest are changing the higher your character level gets.
I.e., a quest for Level 50 has certain XP, Reputation and Gold rewards when you accept it at Level 46 and different XP, Reputation and Gold when accepting the same as Level 60. Or will it always have the same rewards.
I know, that the item rewards stay the same and getting more and more useless the higher the character level is. But what about the other rewards?
Best regards
No, you need to constantly update your gear’s via crafting or dungeon runs while questing at your specific level.
Classic is clear of any scaling non-sense.
Rep is always the same, exp does not increase but rather decreases if quest is very low level compared to you. You get a little compensation in gold for missed exp if quest is grey for you. All other rewards are same.
Yeah, this is the point. Do I still get SAME the XP, gold and Rep. I know, it will not increase (what would make no sense), but it stays the same.
As far as I understood and thought, all reawrds stay the same, but (of course) have a lesser effect.
Basically, quest XP is a set amount, and gets reduced when it turns gray.
Mobs give 100% at equal level. And a 5% bonus per level above you. However! If the mob is lower level there is a dynamic decrease per level. It depends on what levels we are talking about. But yes there is a reduction for killing lower level mobs.
A lot of people still forget to do this but make sure you logoff in a major city or inn. The rested bonus is added to the XP of each mob you kill and makes a huge difference when levelling.
The amount of people who just logoff at random spots and lose the ability to get big rested buffs is crazy.
If your quest is grey you get very diminished rep. If it’s way below, aka have been grey for many lvls), ot can be as little as just 10% of the rep.
There is no scaling in classic. All rewards are fixed. Do you better plan your journey where you go. Zones, mobs and rewards are fixed
unfortunately no, in classic you are punished when you don’t plan accordingly (either be questing paths or talent trees) and classic people enjoy this kind of suffering, so it was never changed and most likely never will.
I’ve been trying to remember when Scaling quest rewards started in retail and I can’t. Could someone jog my memory please.
My brain is telling me WoD but I could be wrong.
WoWpedia say Legion.
Experience scales, Reputation and G do not. Try looking in Wowhead. Is a slider, you can chose your level land look what you get.
I won’t call that scaling in traditional meaning.
So won’t I, but it is best answer I could write
