Not again...| Bots are BACK on Vanilla/Classic Era Servers!

I’ve recently left WotLK due to faction imbalance(I am playing the 99% faction on Earthshaker) and of course the swarming bots, farming everywhere, Maraudon, BRD, Botanica, Rhino areas in Borean Tundra, around Azjol Nerub in Dragonblight, the northern area, loaded with spores from Howling Fjord and most importantly in battlegrounds, even at max level.

Just imagine how this would translate when epic gems will be purchasable for 10k honor in the next phase of WotLK.

Back to Classic Era, this also seems to be the quote said by the bots, as they’ve joined the great number of players that have returned to enjoy the vanilla experience.

BOTH WotLK and Classic Era need immediate action from Blizzzard to put an end to this scourge that plagued this game for years.

I know that the community has its flaws(boosting, minmax, GDKP, Gearscore req. etc), but the paid boosting and the BOTs are something only Blizzard can tackle, providing they wish to protect this game.

They never left.

It comes with the pop. Its CANCER written in caps.

A problem we must solve going forward.

Hello @Belisarios . I’m new to Era, i have been enjoying it, it’s way different from retail, i understand that the leveling is way slower compared to retail but i think that in more ways than one, the world feels way more immersive and worth exploring compared to retail, just my 2 cents about that.

About the bot issue, we see this in probably every game especially popular online games like WoW, FF14, Lost Ark, and maybe even online shooters and so on.
As a player myself i despise bots, i don’t care for GDKP, boosting (about these 2 if they aren’t against TOS i understand that people chose to do them, personally i chose to not participate) , having said that this bot issue that’s rising in Era shows that Classic Era is far from dead as some, especially on these forums, seem invested to make people believe and in a way this makes me happy.

Ahm report them?

Report the ones in instances.

Kill the ones that bot around. Also establish guards in selected instances like DM to kill them.

If we do a good job at reporting we can tackle this issue and combat it.

Everyone need to take preemptively measures and mass report them, it’s the only way.
Go even the extra mile and upload a videoclip of them in the act itself if you can.

I’d like to ask. Is it possible to establish a community from both factions that are dedicated to killing bots in the overworld? It’s a fancy idea that crossed my mind today and thought to ask you (and others) for your opinions.

I’d be totally down for that tbh, horde side.

Could be possible, just the community it self and how much they are willing to commit them self to halt it, we may not fully stop it but decreasing their numbers could lead to a better server and a player experience.

Then I think we should try to find a leader or a group of willing volunteers to do so.

Keepers of Azeroth could be a cool name for a group dedicated to scouting and killing bots

I report Bots left and right, people need to spam report every bot they see!

It’s important that you don’t support GDKP as well since they are one of the main reasons why bots exist in the first place…

THIS!

Someone finally had the ballZ to say it.

Both the community and Blizzard are involved in this BOT issue.

GDKP and BOT can ruin any game.

Killing them doesn’t do much, they just ress and continue… MC’ing them and getting them stuck in some terrain a normal player would be able to go around but their programming cannot handle, works a lot better.

Which requires experience and more than one participant. Hence establishing a community does benefit too.

Why should we even report bots.
Botting is allowed @this point.
Everyone can see wow is swarmed by bots except for blizzard? Ofcourse not as long as bots pay there sub is a nice way of earning money.

And what does that mean, money first then game fun.

I don’t like or care for bots, i wish they would all get banned but to see people still astonished that bots pop up is surprising, honestly.
I do think that in any popular online game there will be things like bots.

If people came to Era from WOTLK Classic hopping that it would be free of bots it’s a unreal expectation and you will be disappointed. Era is popular by the day so the bot swarm is normal.

Reporting bots will probably not work, I agree.

However killing them and mind controlling them could actually help.

lol… NO
