NPC Names Not Working

When setting NPC Names to “Interactive and Hostile NPCs”, no names show over the heads of NPCs. I’ve tried a complete re-install (including deleting all WoW folders before re-downloading and installing the game again).

It turns out that only setting this to “All NPCs” shows any names above NPCs heads; none of the other other options work.

To be clear here, I am NOT talking about nameplates, I’m talking about the names that appear over a characters head, like how over player characters heads they appear blue and most NPCs should appear green.

I have no add-ons, nothing else. Is there a fix for this?

I still haven’t found a solution to this yet.

For me is the exact opposite, i’m able to see their names and healtbars but not the “Title/type” under it (like vendors/trainer etc,)

Do you use plater or any other nameplates addon?

Specifically, I’m in the starting zone of humans, I can see an NPC named Brother Danil, nothing else. I found out he was a vendor because the cursor changed in a bag. Are there add-ons/ UI options that show the function of NPC? So I don’t risk missing a trainer/vendor?
