Official Classic Hardcore

It is about the community though, and having a community like this includes everybody to play by the same rules. Nobody wants to be the guy in greens when the people they play dungeons with have crusader enchanted weapons. It’s simply not fun being bad like that. And as someone who see absolutely no value in leveling twinked out characters in hardcore, I would very much like to see a playing field similar to what the hardcore community has been so far.

With that said, I think the hardcore community was too harsch on the rules, and there should be some trading etc allowed. It just needs to be limited in some way.

I think most people, like me, want to protect what the purpose of hardcore WoW is meant to be. It is popular and realms have been created because of how popular this addon has made it.

Remember this entire thing is happening because of this app and the restrictions it has which protects it from manipulation. It is why people keep coming back.

A fair middle ground can be made, and a well made middle ground can prevent the botting and gold selling disease from infecting HC servers.

To be outraged and annoyed by people’s concerns makes no sense.

Also telling people that there is one way only to do NoDeath challenge makes no sense.
People cheating is only cheating themselves.

I’m not saying there is only one way to do it, presumably you are talking about the app. I hope a middle ground can be made to destroy botting and savour what has made the HC app so popular. Just add some restrictions, if possible.

Shouting someone down without taking their POV into consideration, and not taking the reasoning behind their argument either will create something, that, in a longtevity sense, people are not happy with.

I personally think HC as it is wil be dead within a month or two. People will ding 60 and think ‘lol why all the hype’, whilst maintaining a full set of greens and blues from the AH, from elite quests, and from trading. They won’t understand what HC is, as it has been created because of the HC app. Hope this makes sense.

But having BIS gear will make you less likely to die.

Yes and no. I see your point of it, but for me there’s not much different getting green and blue gear from Quests and dungeon and crafting or via AH. For me +stats gear is “cheating”. Just as much as potions and buffs.
But I do not let other’s “cheating” or not destroy my fun and my feeling of triumph should I ever reach max level.
If people buy their way to 60, is their problem, not mine, this is personal challenge. I know well people cheat, was like this ever since NoDeath was invented. But when all said and done they only cheat themselves.

The only way of giving HC servers longevity is to impose few, clear rules and then let people regulate via honour or addon what they like to add to this challenge.

Everyone should find their account. Those who want to use certain functions can and those who want to increase the restrictions always have the Addon to do so. The important thing is that everyone has fun and that only one rule prevails, stay alive.

It wasn’t my intention to post so much in these threads, but I see a lot of people creating posts that makes me think they possibly don’t understand why these HC realms are being created.

If this app had not become so popular we would not have these realms, and then you have to ask yourself, ‘well what made this app so popular?’

The system the app creates really does work, and I also get players want to be able to play an MMO. I think the two grounds can be met, but I think adding the servers as they are proposed currently means they die pretty quickly, because the rules make the assumed ‘HC experience’ trivial.

I am not sure what you are trying to say? You run the challenge with gray/white items?

It does impact the integrity of it, though. It’s extremely cool if you manage to clear Naxx hardcore. Much less so if half the roster “cheated”. If this was a no death Skyrim challenge, everybody can do what the hell they want, but after all this is an mmo, and the great and terrible thing about it is that the actions of other people around you impact you.

imagine wasting that much of your incel energy on random people on the internet

Hard to get a balance that’ll please everyone (as in HC nude to level 60 hard) - full trading and no-trading are the extremes I guess, but I’m definitely somewhere in the middle. FWIW - I put my thoughts on trading here: HC - Community divided on trading - #18 by Morjin-giantstalker

I’d also like to see Achievements added - IMO one of the very few things that got added into retail that would actually improve Classic with no downside. Chuck in some HC goals like nude or self-made that give you a title at level 5 (if you haven’t already broken them) which you keep until you break them. Or maybe get and apprentice, junior, senior, master etc. version at levels 10,20,30… Why not add to non-HC realms too - give us something to do on our free-transfer corpse-chars (@Blizz - REALLY good feature BTW - do NOT cull it).

Yes. I do the Oldschool IronMan which has been around since 2012. No stats gear, no potion, no group, no dungeon, and of course no death, Guilds allowed before you say, “not social” because it is. We chat, we commiserate, we have fun.

Never will do, no Dungeons - except for only Quests just inside dungeon entrances.
I know, cheaters will cheat, was like this in 2012 too. On rooster you could see snapshot from Armory with people died in stats gear, if not they diedm the re-dress before log out.
Based on honour makes for good challenge, but people get tempted.
If only Blizz would allow access to API instead - would be much better - ckeck easier than addons - and possible for many challenges.

The rules aren’t self imposed , these are the official rules of the hardcore addon .

Hardcore addon

I’m playing with the addon on the Alliance server and I will be staying here with the real hardcore because I don’t want to play the watered down easycore for noobs who can’t handle real hardcore …

They ARE self imposed. You decide if you want follow them, then you download Addon. It’s not forced upon you.

You can’t see the rules until you download the addon , the rules are shown within the addon …

You can read the rules on their homepage last I saw.
And still self-imposed. Noone but you chose to install addon and keep it.
