I apologize if this topic has been discussed a lot on these forums already, but I’m not really an active member and Google searches has been done to no avail.
After a discussion with multiple friends joining WoW again at the Hardcore Official Release, I’ve come to the conclusion that using a 3rd person addon for a set rule set you’re used to, might not be the best solution. Not because it’s a bad add-on, but because it has caused some headaches already on the PTR where you have to decline invites to kill certain mobs and in turn, alienate you from the more “casual” HC players. Some don’t understand why you decline and just see you as a douche.
My suggestion is to make the “soul of iron” way of leveling an option at the character creation. That way, those of us that want to try to get to level 60 without grouping, trading, and using the AH are easy to spot. Also, a tiny bit of epeen by having the buff at level 60 is cool.
Must not be an excuse to get special treatment. Make a macro “/y I am doing Ironman solo self found challenge with addon that can easily be hacked, so apart of being on true HC server and being able to cheat death log of addon is being useless now, my achievements in it are pointless. But it still forbids me to group so please F off!”
I wish that they would not allow addons on HC servers. I’ve seen so many YouTube videos complaining that the new HC servers are flawed, yet play with a million addons that makes it look like they are playing Star Wars!!!
The HC addon was so bad and allowed the deletion of the death logs etc. not only this but it helped to split the HC community through its intrusive nature.
You SSF players are just a bunch of monkeys. Just disable your 20 addons and especially those like RXP with optimized quest routes and automatic enemy targeting. All these addons make the game much easier than a few green ones from the AH.
Or mark players who use addons with a debuff, then everyone knows he’s making it easier
SSF players think they are more hardcore, but still make the game as easy as possible
Only disable all helping addons, please.
Or make Blizz roll back changes so no Band-aid addons necessary. The three I us, two makes up for Blizz’s changes in-game. And one just takes screen-shot when I level. I will hate not have that as I often too busy fight to also screen-shot.
People use not only practical addons but also those that make the game easier. Whether it is swingtimer, Questi, RXP, rawscanner and what all there is.
A SSF player with addons, especially RXP has it easier than a player without SSF who uses the auction house instead. That’s why SSF players are monkeys in my eyes.
This isn’t something that will be available at launch, but adding additional opt-in rulesets and challenges is something that’s being considered as a possibility for the future.
I have to agree - to contents, not your way of saying
I use as said only “bandaids” - hopeing to get more of these as Blizz seems to be changing UI even more with PTR.
I never did use helpeing addons as an IronMan only old ones in raids long ago. And I say no to grouping when I see people use addon: In chat I see Antares-Steamwheedle Cartel says: Looking for more for “Nearer to the Fire” [123] Questnumber from some addon giving away use
