Oh the joy of new AH

Think its more the New players this is good for.

The prices of some stuff on some servers was extortionate and wasnt friendly towards a new player looking to buy some mats to level his proffession.

You have to account for the people abusing small servers for profits.

Loads would farm to the extremes then sell on low pop realms to triple the profits instead of selling on own server.

To eventually move back to main accounts.

I have a feeling that there maybe less gold in the economy going into and through Dragonflight.

If mission tables are going away, (and it looks like they are) and the AH becomes less lucrative, remaining income generators like botting and boosting could become more prevalent.

Although botting might self destruct itself with a price war to the bottom, only making gains via high volume sales.

Dragonflight crafting sounds like it will be raid item restricted to generate raiding cash for the few that can do it. :moneybag:

It is also possible, that merging AH is a preliminary to merging and cut down on empty servers.

Iā€™m more familiar than most with new players, and the idea that many of them are struggling to skill up crafting profs by buying mats is strange. Profs in general have been mostly out of the ambit of the new player since ā€¦ I want to say WoD, but maybe Legion, because Garrisons. Such choices as new players make tend towards gathering. So the new AH will be bad for them.

oh well that blows :frowning:

You cant sell stuff on mobile, but np.

why?

he already wrote why, read up

No he mentioned why he thinks it wonā€™t benefit them, not why it would be bad for themā€¦

Truth is it will be good for most buyers, if new players will do anything on AH itā€™s buying

Well it depends on mentality really.

I for example will always pay gold to level proffessions above going out and farming them really.

But given the factor of the new proffession upgrades in DF, i imagine alot of people will now be advised to do proffessions related to their classes. So unlike a time where a entry player would either be into them or just dont do em. They will now be driven to more likely needing them.

Unless blizz fold on the whole mythic gear being achievable by them

And given the fact people were having to buy a token to get ahold of the legendary piece we really dont want that problem repeating

This is an interesting idea.

My thinking has always been that Blizzard need to keep pumping gold into the economy some way, any way, to keep liquidity high to grease Token sales. But might they have decided to deflate the economy in numbers, while still maintaining a constant inflow? Paging Milton Friedman!

easily. by selling crafted transmogs ofc. and itā€™s gonna be better than ever if materials will be cheap. great change :supervillain:

It will be a benefit to buyers of mats and consumables.

New Players are not big mats buyers. Rarely or never have I seen a double-crafing new player. They used to be into buying gear - and still are, but to be fair now that I think of it there has been maybe less of that in SL. I have advised some to get Green 229s, and helped a couple out with that, but I do see less of it now than I used to. Mind you, I see a lot fewer new players than I used to.

most ppl see the sort term of the AH. sort term yes its nice and help low pop servers etc. also donā€™t forget there are easy ways to get some gold now with calling and the mission table. but long term term things are different and it will mostly depent and how you can make gold without using AH because as fron today AH for normal player is impossible to sell anything now and even more in the future. blizz did this for 2 reasons. firstly so that blizz look good in low pop servers with cheaper mats. donā€™t forget that now that its region wide normal player will sell nothing even if they camp it. TSM users will see the most benefit so raider etcā€¦ forget it. yes now you will say that items like flasks etc will sale much easier. but when ppl list 2k pots or flasks etc and normal players farm 20-50 flasksā€¦ and there are 50 bots listing atleast 2-3k flasksā€¦ do the math. u will never sell. even with cancel and relistingā€¦ so secondly and lastly and this is what they try to doā€¦ ppl will buy TOKEEEEEEENS since it will be the only way for you to make gold. and this will circleā€¦ normal player buy token for goldā€¦ bot and multiboxers buy the tokens player s buy. u didnā€™t like legendary system which bliss was their way to promote tokens. lets see now how you will like this wayā€¦

I have sold many (old and new stuff) like never before and made like 200K in 2 hours. I like it.

hopefully you understand that when you donā€™t have the in game gold to purchase the token you will need to resort to using your own credit card.

With region wide AH - hopefully token prices will also drop and even out with monthly in game gold earnings.

You have an interesting take, worth consideration, but all the people who think this ā€œhelps low pop serversā€ are completely missing the point. It helps high consumable users on low pop servers, not the majority of people playing there.

This change is the best thing ever. And now just put everything else in all realms too :green_heart: :green_heart: :green_heart:

40g for a reagent was hardly a scam.

for a fairly uncommon reagent as well.

Actually those prices were because someone would by all silk from AH and re-sell for 3-5 times more.

fair? No.

Now what is happening, scammers keep putting silk for 1 gold and sheeps without checking price, just put silk in AH and scammer instantly buy their silk.

Average price for shadowland silk was 5 gold, now it is 4 with region AH.
