They should add ALL dugeons to M+.

It takes you out of the entire feeling of a ´´new´´ expansion. I preferred the S4 dungeons because I genuinely disliked the Shadowlands dungeons, both when it came to mechanics and aesthetics. Thing is though, taking some magic portal and doing Mechagon dungeons just ruins the entire theme, and I very quickly grew tired of it.
BFA M+ worked so well because every dungeon felt part of the theme. Freehold fit with the pirate theme, Underrot with the corruption theme and Atal with the jungle troll theme. Also I loved the 10 / 15 affixes thematically.
Now? It´s just completely chaotic and feels so clownly. I really do not enjoy it. Makes WoW feel even more like a lobby game than ever before.
I hope S4 is just all the Dragon Flight dungeons and a cool end of season affix though.
Which was probably about 1 trinket per season when your spec was not on 2 raid trinkets. They make a problem out of nothing.
I wouldn’t have minded if it was optional extras in the form of TW dungeons, like we had with Legion TW M+ but to actually not give us end game content and sub in old recycled dungeons is just disgraceful.
Ideally every single dungeon in the game would be M+ compatible
and the achievement could just be to just run X many different keys at +15

Probably it will be the same for the CoS ring from Legion as it returns. 90% of Legion TW keys I saw were for it…

This was datamined back in september, so why would you think it’s 2 DF and the rest old?

i was on the mindset ‘‘give it some time it’ll grow on you’’ with season 4 having old dungeons, let me tell you that didnt happen as iron docks being an 30min timer and karazhan receiving very little tuning made the mode almost unplayble where 3/8 in the pool are barely playable,
blizzard is already incapable at making fun dungeons look at shadowlands and dragonlands dungeon design: every mob needs an ability, most do avoidable damage preventing big fun pulls so thinking that incompetent devs will be able to release revamped,balanced and fun dungeon from before is laughable
Yes, but my point was that you could replace it with a higher ilvl version of the same item. The new dungeon rotation risks forcing us into using the item from the previous season, even though it’s lower ilvl, because there’s nothing in the current season that’s better.
Blizzards plan is that there won’t be such an item…

The plan, yes. But the CoS ring will be available in s1, so I’m inclined to wait and see if they actually deliver on that promise, especially considering that gear balance isn’t something they’ve ever managed to achieve before.
I don’t know why people are so mad about this. I can’t wrap my head around it.
It’s done solely with 2 purposes, 1 of them even being open for discussion.
a) Having to play the same 8 dungeons for 2 years is incredibly boring. This was my comment for all 3 expansions in a row. I was sick to death farming the dungeons to get KSM. I loved S4 and the way it shook up the usual system.
b) Argumented by Blizzard - Players playing in S1 have a huge advantage in S3 for example, because all the dungeons, all the pulls etc remained the same throughout the expansion, only the numbers got bigger. Now, when they will change the dungeons every season, you won’t be discouraged to start late, like alot of people were.
And if you look at it from a logical perspective, you have 4 dungeons from the new expansion in 1st season, and 4 old ones, which you either experienced and will like them due to nostalgia, or you never experienced them and it’s gonna be NEW to you anyways, so who cares???
For sure M+ in DF will be ALOT more dynamic due to these changes, and even if you can’t admit it now.
This is actually what I like about the mythic plus rotation, and what’s being taken away from me. Having the same core dungeons with a couple added each season (kind of like what happened in BfA) is perfect for me.
This is a personal thing, I know, but I won’t be tanking in DF. Learning new dungeons as tank is extremely stressful for me - I tanked seasons 1 and 2 of SL, and only started to enjoy it towards the end of s1 - and going through that every patch would strip all the fun out of the game. Adding a new dungeon to an established rotation is stressful, but it’s balanced by being able to tank others that I know well and get back into my comfort zone.
I may be very unusual in this - I don’t know - but I’m sure I’m not unique.

This was solved in previous expansions by having way more than 8 dungeons.
No. I am also now only going to play 1 spec. Since it is already difficult to learn the dungeons on that one and get comfortable with it. In all expansions i have been playing other classes in s3 and further. And also even got to tanking and dpsing. But this rotation is pushing me towards my 1 main spec (which ever healer i will choose to play) and thats it.

On a paper yes, in reality far from it. SL & BFA are the same at this, since they both brought the ‘mega’ dungeon, meaning Tazavesh in SL, and Mechagon in BFA. Both overtuned messes at start, and then the easiest ones at the end dude to the nerf mallet.
Legion on the other hand, brought Karazhan in 7.1.5., Cathedral in 7.2.5. and Seat in 7.3.5. While it seems that we got additional 4 M+ dungeons, 3 of them were unplayable for the first few months so if you got Lower / Cathedral / Seat your key was doomed for the key as noone would join. Exceptions were obviously guild groups etc.
So from my perspective, it was the same in practice.
We had in BFA from the start already 10 dungeons, instead of just 8. This number 8 is introduced in SL and somehow now becomes the number for every season. Terrible.
