That’s true. They introduced 2 more which made the pool abit bigger, but it was still the same crap throughout the exp.
Not to mention everyone dreaded Tol Dagor and Shrine so it was 8 for me and 10 in the last season

No worries. We will get those ‘dreading’ dungeons in the next 8 dungeonpool too. Like we got right now with lower kara, iron docks and grimrail…
I don’t mind 8 for the first season. A base of 8 dungeons with an additional 2 added each season OR an additional 4 old dungeons that change each season would be good. Personally, I think if they’re going to use old dungeons, the second option would hit the sweet spot. It would give a mix of consistency with variety and 12 dungeons each season.
I have friends who LOVED Shrine. I don’t know anyone who said that about Tol Dagor, but it was fine in the last season when you could use the seasonal affix to skip the worst packs.
Was it solved that way?
Or rather you run the 8 standard dungeons plus 2-3 new ones.
Tol dagor was not fine. It was bugged through all of BFA and it’s STILL bugged when I’ve done it after BFA. Sanguine depths had the same problems at the start of SL as Tol Dagor did for the whole of BFA but they at least fixed SD.
Adding new dungeons to the pool mid-expansion, like it was done in BfA and Shadowlands season 3, has several problems:
I barely played Legion at launch or for quite some time after the launch due to the artifact system and it wasn’t a problem at all when I started doing m+ towards the end of Legion and they had 13 m+ dungeons.
I like that they are bringing back old dungeons…it was a content that was there and nothing was happening with it and for years players screamed that blizzard should find a way to bring back all content so this is first step
Well, maybe your dedication and gaming skill is well above average.
I subbed to Legion a few weeks before BfA launched, leveled up a tank, and tried tanking a M+ Legion dungeon. Even though I didn’t know what the hell Gear Score was, somebody invited me for a +2. I didn’t know routes, what mobs did, etc. Basically the over-geared DPS just did a speed run and I was running after them as a tank. I was so confused that I didn’t bother doing any more M+ until I was a few months into BfA and people told me that I have to do M+ to progress.
It is already a completely different experience when you got 10 dungeons instead of 8. And in Legion and BFA we even had more than 10. This number 8 is a shadowlands thing that very unfortunately got carried over into DF. And it seems it stays only 8. It means you are not running over and over and over the same dungeon. Even with 2 years the same dungeonpool.
When we get 10+ dungeons already from the start it is not boring anymore. 8 is.
Experienced find the old dungeons easier since till now blizzard had overtuned the new dungeons like mad. In s3 streets and gambit became totally fine after the tuning.
Everyone gets overwhelmed right now every season by all the dungeon changes. And it means people do not play off roles anymore. Nobody is comfortable in the dungeons and less people have fun or are able to actually have fun.
The new dungeons are also not accessable in M0 or the leveling normal and heroic version which means nobody has a clue about them and can also not learn the normal way. Or at least half of the dungeonpool since they are not part of the expansion.
I can see the logic behind it not saying I agree but I can see how they are hoping it keeps seasons fresh and entice people back for future seasons.
I think they’d gain more plaudits if they did some proper re works though. So for example adding a dungeon in that gets a full m+ rework from say vanilla tbc wotlk etc and then the rework can be a modernisation of the dungeon as a whole.
That isn’t what I was talking about, and you know it.
Stop trying to pick a fight by twisting my words to create your own meaning.
It being bugged beyond belief was what was the problem with it. That and the camera. No affix fixed either.
See what I mean? You’re just here to pick a fight.
I’m not biting. Have a good day.
Correcting isn’t picking a fight. The problem with tol dagor was how bugged it was. It was always the problem and still is.
Did you even read what Tyssera said?
Tol Dagor is my highest timed dungeon even in s4 bfa. You were able to skip the buggy parts with the season affix.
All good points.
I think there is value in knowing and mastering dungeons over an entire expansion and not just 4-5 months.
I think a lot of players are going to be very exhausted by season 3. Especially because it isn´t new content… it is mastering content that was released 8-10 years ago and honestly the content just is not that good and was never designed with M+ in mind at all.
No, you weren’t.
You could have mobs coming from the floors below or above you when you were fighting the 2nd boss or running through the walls and falling down to the ground and pulling more as they make their way up to you again after they’ve run to the entrance where the first boss is, you also couldn’t drink when this happened.
You could have mobs hitting you from the floor below on the last boss, which the tank couldn’t take aggro on so the healer was 100% dead when it happened.
You also could get the barrels on floors above you randomly exploding and killing you through the floor. So you had to be aware of where those barrels were, on floors above you, so you didn’t die from barrels on the floor above you exploding somehow.
It was impossible to get out of combat after the cannons, so screw you if you were low on mana when you got there if you weren’t a nelf because you weren’t leaving combat unless you went back inside and killed the mobs that were in combat with you from the cannon hitting them through the wall because somehow they’re not running outside to fight you, just staying there and targeting people and keeping them in combat.
Yes we were. We figured out a route in the first weeks and never had any bug anymore for the whole season.
