Old races getting neglected for a new one

Are you people really okay with this?

“Unfortunately, World of Warcraft is focusing on the vast customization options of the drakthyr, meaning existing races are unlikely to get new options during Dragonflight’s initial release, though it is still possible other customization options could come in a patch before or after the expansion.” (https://gamerant.com/world-of-warcraft-developers-shadowlands-mistakes-dragonflight-expansion/)

That’s exactly what I said before: the races that are essetial to WoW are being neglected for the sake of some newly retconned race. I don’t think this is okay, and some ominous promises for future patches aren’t enough!

We were promised heritage armor for all core races, but there are still some missing:

  • Orcs
  • Undead
  • Trolls
  • Draenei
  • Humans
  • Night Elves
  • Pandaren

Where are they?! And where are the heritage weapons that should go with the armor? Where are the lore-heavy questlines going with those armors and weapons? Where is the love for the traditional Azeroth?

We were promised new constumization options, but what we actually received were a handful of selected features for a few races.

Drac’thyr already use the male blood elf model and the female human model - those costumization options should be opened up, like all costumization options:

Why can a highmountain tauren not teach a tauren how to braid their hair? Why can’t a Dark Iron use the same earrings as a (normal) dwarf?
Or why can’t each race in general learn how to make up their hair etc. like another race?

So much more variety could be achieved by simply removing unnecessary limitations between already similar models and with some small adjustments between different ones.

Implementing shiny new things (be it lore / quests / costumization) that have no connection to those already in the game aren’t enough!
Real Azeroth is crying out in pain (Magni’s voice) because its getting neglected and everybody who truely loves the World of Warcraft for its old, deep lore with its brilliant, endearing races and stunning zones should be just as upset as I am with the announcement of 10.0!

and this comes from a want to be elf! Blizzard should have just added all Void elf options to the Blood elves!

That part sounds to me you have more a problem with the Drac’thyr than the Individualisation Options for other races.

Besides that, this can have lore reasons.

Lightforged Draenei and Draenei developed basically 2 subculters. 1 of Civilian/Military/Scientist-Lifes and one being Military-only.

Dwarfs and Dark-Iron Dwarfs are both different Clans/Cultures. It makes sense for them to not have the same Tattoos/Ear-Rings/etc than the other race, since those can have different meaning in their culture.

A new playable race is more fun than some customization on an old one.
Take allied races for example, the only truly new ones are Kul’tirans, Vulpera and Male Zandalari. Everything else is just a reskin of already existing ones. BORING

Not part of the topic, but yes, indeed, that’s part of what I’ve suggested (and vice versa, of course).

Yeah sure, but do you see how the real world works? Rastas can be worn by all humans, they aren’t locked to a certain skin color or origin (although some ppl seem to think that). Kimonos can’t just be worn by asian people, they can be worn all over the world or even be adapted to inspire clothes for new styles.

That’s how fashion works: by adapting things and getting inspiration from other cultures.

As posted in your other thread on this subject.

Yep no problem at all,

Yep whole thread on it.

Which was deleted by some flagging trolls reporting with armies of alts.

My main problem isn’t the new race, it’s that new things get added and the old ones are just being forgotten. This game has a long, colorful history, which is being neglected for the sake of new, unfinished things. Before implementing new things, old ones should be polished… or those things should go hand in hand, so the whole game can profit.

Or genuine posters who, wait for it, totally disagreed with you.

Doubt it. Just like you now and the first reply ppl didn’t bother to actually write something on topic, instead I was insulted for posting from a void elf or disliking the new race, which is actually against the code of conduct, not the content of my posts.

That’s because it was all said in the other thread, no point in repeating it over and over again.

You brought the subject up, it was discussed, you blatantly ignored the replies, giving off an air of ‘I’m correct dont argue with me!’

Nuff said.

truth be told most of us would be happier with new stuff for existing races than a dragon race/class that most of us wont main

Because, If you’d actually read the post, you could tell it’s a) not the same one and b) the old one was deleted.

I’ve reformulated the content of my words, realizing I’ve articulated myself poorly. People complained correctly it’s wrong to ask for something to be removed, hence I’m now fighting to have options that are already there opened up AND to remind everybody why some of us love this game: for existing things, not shiny new ones.

Yes you did and annoyed a lot of people with your “i am not listening alalallalaalalalalal” approach

Always enhance other things never asked for things to be removed thats just being obtuse and the problem is now with your last approach people will struggle to take anything you say serious.

A forum is for debate and people to share there views either you abide by that or do not post it is that simply really.

And its still Blizzards product. If they want it this way, its their decision as the IPs owner. We may pay for being able to play but we don’t own this game and also don’t have the permission to dictate Blizzard how to do their game. We can suggest things and if the Development team thinks it is a good addition to the game they will consider implementation. But they are not obliged to do everything we players wish for.

I do support your wish for Heritage Armor. But I don’t support your wish for more customization options for existing races at the moment.

Dark Iron and Mechagnomes aren’t boring, and Lightforged are OK too.

Exactly, so people posting here should stop disgressing from the actual topic and remember exactly that. Not going to comment further on this, because it’s not on topic.

I do feel a bit cheated with the whole heritage armour thing tbh. Especially when I see them updating the Blood elf quest being updated.
It’s like they start a project, but just don’t finish it and it feels like it’s being abandonned.
They created a whole new model for Uther wearing some pretty cool armour for 1 questline, have Nighelves in BFA with the classic Nelf armour etc. Can’t some of this be ported?

I feel like this too, too much focus on this new race. Wheres the love for the existing ones

It is part of the topic wether you like it or not but w/e you are never up for debate anyways as shown here and yesterday.
