From both an immersion and lore point of view for the time and place of the release of said allied races. The setting is just about right. Anyone who actually played legion had these reputation grinds at exalted.

Allied races have a reputatiom grind, imagen that. A bonus race that unlocks through story has to be grinded for. You as a player, literally besiege these races to join the Horde or Alliance permanently. So ofcourse you will go to their hometown and gain their loyalty through a series of quests and reputation grinds. As it befits any MMO. Again, these are bonus races.

You feel entitled to everything retail has to offer in the span of a week and you get triggered when you notice you have to grind to unlock content. In an MMO. Do you know how laughable that is comming from a person who is waiting for classic?
So it can’t be done in a few minuets then.
And again you’re missing the point. rep grinds are fine, the problem is going to into old content to do it, it’s boring and yeah imagine feeling entitled to access the selling point printed all over the expansions box.

This has absolutely nothing to do with entited.
THis is just a dumb system:
Oh hey you want to play this new race? Go on and grind rep first 2months into the expansion and then start over again on a new CHAR with this new race.
Of course nobody is going to do that they just racechange.
OH wait and there is blizzards logic. Because they outplayed themself with their free charboost with expansion purchase they added this rep grind to squeeze more money out from racechange because otherwise everyone would just use the free charboost at expansion start. I mean its their good right to do money however they want.
But that some people even defend such behaviour is absolutely amazing.
Its absolutely enough if you would get some heritage armor/mount/title for the rep grind and just give races like we got them previous free char boost on expansion purchase.

Imagine they added rep grind for races in TBC everyone would have gone apesht xd
And not forget the classic comparison because there you have to grind meaningless rep to start over on a new toon to play gnome. Yikes brudi
btw how can it be that a fresh char is 435+ geared and everything before he can even have unlocked something basic as a race he w ant to play?
And i dont t hink anyone would mind to play through the suramar mainquest again but the endless rep grind through meaningless WORLDQUESTS in an old expansion

Thats on himself for not playing the game during legion.
Dude look. Rep grind this rep grind that. We get it. It’s boring. It’s not fun. But when has it ever been exactly fun to grind in this game? It’s always boring. It’s always not fun. The reward is what keeps you going. I don’t even play alliance and i got all the alliance allied races including kul tiran humans with a week or two of grinding on an alliance character.
If you consider grinding rep with a 120 character on a 110 zone, then i think it’s best if you stop playing wow. Because this game has always been about grinding to get the good thing you want at the end.
I see just one issue with that… old content is outdated and useless. Unless you are 100% role player who plays just for immersion.
Besides that, locked content is okay

I do not mind the thought of unlocking races if gated behind a questline achievement. Having to grind to exalted is… Not that great. And I find it sad that people are willing to defend it, even though the grinding is done poorly with how you don’t get to “Grind” at your own pace. You only get a handful of World Quests, that’s it for the day.
But apparently it’s totally legit! According to these ninnies.

Seems like the main argument people have for keeping it like this is that they had to do the grind and feel like others should suffer too 
For me personally it would feel a lot better if the allied races at least started at a higher level, it’s such a bad feeling finally unlocking them then remembering you will also have to level them up from 20 to actually be able to play them.
The cynical side of me feels that the rep requirements for new races are in the game to make people play more. Same with Heritage armour. You have to level up from start to 110 to get Heritage. For me that’s nothing but a chore that I’m slowly working my way through so now and then

Well, i do understand OPs point. Those allied races were NOT Legion content, they were BFA content that was available early for us who preordered. It doesn’t change the fact it is BFA content, that you can only do if you have purchased BFA.
We, who were playing in Legion and preordered BFA were able to easily do whole thing with early access. It feels like Legion content to us and OP complains might sound unreasonable to us, because “Hey it was available, we did it then when it was current”.
If those races would not have been available early for people who preordered, it would have been huge 
when BFA came out and everyone would have had to go back to Legion to do/finish those allied races. And that is probably why they slapped those for early access in the first place.

Races are cosmetic (mostly, unless you’re hellbent on getting one particular racial) same as mounts, yet you rarely see anyone complaining about having to grind the exalted reps for all of those across multiple old expansions and multiple factions per expansion, and then still have to pay gold on top of that.
I wanted the Amber Scorpion, I did the Klaxxi grind.
I wanted the Winterspring Frostsaber, I did the 20 dailies (without the 5 day hack)
etc. etc.
And I started playing at the beginning of Legion, so none of those were current content for me. I just found something I liked, found out how to go about getting it, and then put the effort in.

As someone who has unlocked all 4 horde allied races I think they are overrated anyway. Unless you’re some kind of hardcore collector then go for it, but if you want them because you think it’ll change the game, then you’re mistaken. It’s just a tauren with antlers and a racial that makes you accidentally charge off cliffs to the point where you get kicked from the dungeon.
Don’t even get me started on what a waste of time grinding Mag’har orcs was.

I was maining HPala from Cata till late Legion , capping average 2k only with RBG mostly on Paladin & Hunter .
Having screenshots playing with semiguild RBG at Legion when guild was @ Ragnaros-Horde and meeting Starslol , Tuka , Blindsap & winning them at 1.8k vs 2.5k mmr , lmk ingame so i can give you the screens.
Never did any arena with Mage - Warr - Hunter - MW not even for cap since i was already casual by that time.
At BfA i’ve started playin RBGs again with MW for the first time cuz it was fun but the moment i heard they removed the % titles i quitted around at 1.6k since my only goal was to get Guardian.
Atm,i’m pugging RBG with Prot Warr this season which is meme class the last 2 expansions and ofc 99% of times i cant even get an invite for 0 cr teams.
You are right ,i got carried in PvE in that M+10 Legion dungeon once to get the Artifact Skin from some irl friends who play with me on the net cafe i used to work but i never bought anything with gold , curve or any M+ @ BfA as you can see.
