Now? …10/10 char
Most aspects of gaming are subject to this.
I definitely think otherwise. Classic had almost nothing out there to do besides leveling.
It was a raid or die game. And that sort of thing just isn’t good enough anymore in 2023.
But hey, it’s fine we disagree. You can enjoy the parts of classic you like.
I can ignore classic completely.
I just don’t want retail changed to resemble classic. Not in certain ways anyway; that’d kill the game for me.
And I personally think that the people who love classic and want retail to be more like it are COMPLETELY and UTTERLY selfish. They already have classic. Why not ask for Classic + for instance? New content within that old framework that you love.
Why change a version of the game that many players love? That’s just wrong imo.
refreshed the page,
still says alt of skullstalker and skull fox
you would need to delete the profile or rename i think , seeing as the data is kept for 6 years as per policy
Doesn’t on mine… But thank you honestly for sharing this. Stalking is a huge issue especially on argent dawn.
And to be fair those around here who wanted me dead. Probably already knew this way before you told me.
But thanks to you its common knowledge now. Your a good one.
Well, I never said retail should be changed to classic. I said I enjoy both games for different reasons, same reason I play games like Stardew Valley, Overwatch and at some point Sims2 (cough).
I quoted Elahri, who said “Lvling is just about the most boring aspect of WoW.”, and I replied with “for you”, and described how I see the games.
if you made a new character disable addons, and it wont find it atleast on RIO
Oh no that was more about certain other people in this thread.
Since the cat couldn’t possibly be more out of the bag… Can someone please help me change my forum poster? I click change character. I click it like im fighting the black plague and nothing happens. I tried deleting my browser chache. witch was the only advice i found online.
And i cant get out of Izhan. And into Skullfox… I even sent a GM ticket about it when i asked them to ban me from posting. All I got was ‘‘Show some restraint’’ And we aren’t doint anything against you intentionally’’
Do you have another machine you can log in on?
Maybe that would do it?
Log out. Log in on a new device and see if you can change your active forum character there.
I suddenly cant use my mic either for discord xD I swear someones on my tail for real
And it happens now. Right after this expose. Someone wants me to shut the heck up
Neh that’s just discord being the crap that it is.
Anyway, the above is my suggestion. I don’t have another idea at this moment.
Oh opinions opinions why oh why are you so subjective?
Now that you mention it… I could compare WoW’s combat to other games in this regard.
In wow, when you level up on retail, I’m sure you skip as many mobs as you can to focus on rushing to max. In keys you skip trash as much as you can. Same for raids, even though they can drop boes. The rng is way too low to be reliable.
One sorta has to grind mobs in Classic on the other hand (vanilla) so they reluctantly engage them. But for most it isn’t fun - it wasn’t for me.
But when I play Star Wars, I just kill and destroy everything as they give XP for direct upgrades. If I didn’t, I probably could have afforded one or even two less upgrades in my first playthrough (which will be needed if I want to try for a harder difficulty).
Same goes if I play Fallout. Especially at the start, one has very few ammo and weak weapons, so you’ll want to engage enemies while they are weak as you are, and grab a nice hunting rifle or shotgun as they’ll serve you better than a low caliber pistol. And again, the more you kill, the more xp you get, the more powerful skills you can afford.
As for XP… they are also accumulated much quicker. So you gain power quicker but that’s how single player games are like.
Not to mention consumables, chugging a huge chuck of cooked meat at the right moment will save your life. It directly feels rewarding that you killed that menacingly-looking bear 10 minutes before.
If you were to try this on retail, the best you could do is to sell the crafting reagents, and hope someone buys them for a low amount of gold. The elixirs, engineered stuff and food buffs below current content are largely worthless. 1 stam and 1 vers isn’t worth leveling up cooking for.
So, because mobs are mainly worthless, it’s not worth engaging them, which takes out much of the potential fun from the game.
Yup, it’s at least 2 weeks for a ksm, and 2-3 weeks for the raid if you’re a pusher (maybe 4). No idea about pvp.
Plenty? DF have way less players than even shadowlands… you’re not plenty. you’re just who is left. A minority.
Even having this discussion about which version is better, classic or df, is an direct argument against DF. People still preffering to play a 2004 version of wow with no updates instead of a 2023 one is a big shame for blizz.
current devs busy activism on twitter and not enough actual WORK, DESIGN, IDEAS, WORLDBUILDING
i played stardew valley recently. i wish wow had that same design philosophy for some segments of game…like TILLERS …reminded me of stardewvaley
also sims2 is the best sims ever released i loved feeding my kids to the plant to drink the life juice kek
I really love both in its extremes, but not a mix. I want either full rpg like classic era or full convenience like retail. A mix makes it feel like a chore to me personally. Maybe that’s why I dislike wotlk so much, and also enjoyed tbc way less than classic. However, I actually really enjoy retail, but since most rpg elements are gone anyway, I wouldn’t mind it being even more convenient. Well, my immersion in retail comes from the lore and the story, but not from the mmorpg. In classic era it’s the opposite.
My opinions regarding this changed a lot since 6 months, so take this with a grain of salt.
You poor guy, you dont even realize that the main reason DF is actually decent compared to the last expansions is because they listen to some of us and did a more “classic” route for DF.
*Talents trees, world pvp being a thing again, proffesions being relevant, afk flying mounts ‘removed’, lore/questing more classic, world being more engaging, no more borrowed power, etc.
that’s exactly what wow needs. Classic bases/principles with a touch of modern tech. Simple.
Currently there is Ulduar patch in WotLK so I’m having a blast, just as I remembered.
During TBC I often jumped to retail for some M+ runs, but Dragonflight completely sucked out fun from doing them (overload of mechanics, vomit on the ground, 10+ button class rotations, super weak healers etc.) so I’m not even bothering in logging for weekly vault of fomo.
But that’s me.
This is all true, but it’s not like classic. In classic, professions were not relevant. You just needed to go engineering. Gameplay-wise retail is way more engaging than classic, and if anything, classic is way more afk-ish. Can’t recall how many times I tabbed out while riding through the barrens World being engaging is true for both, I agree with you. I love the world design currently in both games, but classic has insanely good immersion, while dragonflight didn’t cause immersion for me sadly. Regarding borrowed power, well… We have our shadowlands abilities in our talent trees sadly, but maybe SL traumatized me a little …
