My man, who said that everyone likes leveling?
I love leveling in single player games. I mostly hate it in multiplayer games (if they include PvP).
My man, who said that everyone likes leveling?

I certainly didnât.
Negation of âno oneâ isnât âeverybodyâ.
Yep.
You have no clue about that. But even if it does; a lot of that is Shadowlandsâ fault!
No itâs not.
Just like a discussion about whether you like peanutbutter or jelly better isnât a direct argument against either. Stop being so utterly inane.
And some people prefer to ride their old classic car instead of a new one. Doesnât make the old one âbetterâ objectively.
You poor something. You canât even read when I said âIN CERTAIN WAYSâ.
I played vanilla; I liked vanilla. Back then.
But the game WoW is today is MUCH better than vanilla was overal; doesnât mean there arenât certain aspects I liked in vanilla (some that I even still like).
Yeah, I like them and that was one of the things I liked in vanilla.
No. Do not want. In any way, shape or form; if I can ignore it; itâs fine. Otherwise; no.
I donât like what theyâve done with professions. Itâs too much work for too little gain.
Again not a change I like. I prefer the traditional flying over dragonriding; mount choice is a big part of that; I donât like it that Iâm forced to use only 4 ugly mounts.
Questing is NOT more classic; itâs the same itâs been for the last number of years. I like it that way, donât get me wrong, but you do NOT get to claim that that is because of classic, because thatâs just pure nonsense.
Again; has NOTHING to do with classic. Classicâs world is useless for anything except leveling and farming mats. In DF thereâs all kinds of things to do out in the world during and AFTER leveling.
Not a classic thing either; they just got rid of something that a group of vocal players disliked. I personally like borrowed power just fine; as long as the main system is fun.
Some yes, some no.
Stop acting as if classic is some holy grail; itâs not. Itâs a game that was fun. Almost 19 years ago. Things changed.
Wrong. PvP was a blast back then. We made big raids to surge Orgrimmer, grouping up at Crossroads and having great fun. Also Nagrand Halaa, Gurubashi arena, BGs were a lot better than Panda land (awful). I didnât PvE but we had some amazing raids back then also. We had plenty to do, and I didnât leave WoW so much back then, I stay subbed throughout. I unsubscribe on WoW nowadays to wait until they fix the so many broken things in the game. Itâs full of bugs and PvP is a dire state.
Agree to disagree.
PvP in WoW has NEVER been good imo.
Lol⌠If you didnât PvE how the hell can you say the raids were amazing?!
âOh I love the taste of cheese⌠I never had a bite of cheese in my life, but man⌠that taste is amazingâ ![]()
Depends on what kind of player you were back then honestly.
I did raiding back then; so yeah, I had plenty to do. I farmed mats for the raid and just to make gold in my âdowntimeâ and I farmed resistance gear when needed, etc etc.
But it was all about that raiding. It was raid-or-die. ANd that became very apparent when I stopped raiding at the end of vanilla and in TBC I was absolutely bored out of my skull. All I did was farm ore and a few reps and do some dungeons. That was LITERALLY it.
Again; PvP was never good in WoW. Ever.
Imo.
by classic, i mean until like wotlk⌠not just vanila
Itâs called timewalkingâŚ? And clearing them to farm mounts.
Also, I actually raided in WotLK and those were great challenging raids. Nax was one of my favourites, and ICC was great too. I enjoyed them a lot.
I could have guest that youâre this kind of chicken⌠sorry, i mean player. Also, that you will preffer afk-ing in dull old flying mounts. Could have trully guessed that, haha. Your opinion really started to matter way less in my eyes. Good day sir.
This thread is funny in how people voice displeasure but donât really understand the cause.
You donât want seasonal content anymore. Say THAT.
No amount of increased world difficulty is gonna deliver what you want. You need to funnel players back to the world and the only way to do that is to stop funneling them into instances. ![]()
No. Thatâs not AT ALL comparable with how raids were.
Even less comparable.
Great for you. So what was your point? That raids now arenât good?
I think youâll find that the general consesus is that raids have generally become much more interesting when compared to the early days (doesnât mean all of them are good all the time; thereâs disappointments, like there always are with just about everything).
Couldâve guessed (thatâs the actual word, not guest) that you would resort to insults; PvPers usually do; theyâre the aggressive, vindictive kind. So yeah; no surprise there.

My point was that there arenât MANY games that keep that sort of loyalty over the years. The fact you can only find ONE proves it.
ONE is not MANY!
Not really? You still see and experience the raid.
Maybe so, but same answer as above. ^
Are you dumb? I clearly made my point. You said âLoL yOu DiDnT PvE BaCk ThEnâ, so I said that actually did. ![]()
You know what they say about opinions, everyoneâs got oneâŚ
Sure, and in THAT context youâre completely entitled to say that raid is awesome.
But you canât speak about the original because the experience and context was just different.
Same answer, but even more extreme.
Soloing a raid and killing a boss in 1 or a few hits is a completely different experience than doing the raid when it is current content with a group of people.
Nonono, donât start spinning this⌠YOU said you didnât PvE:
So donât claim I said it. I just went on what you said⌠But now youâre saying you did?
So⌠You lied? Good to know.
Yep. But since this is a thread where a few people are claiming âold WoWâ was better⌠this is relevant. Because this whole thread is predicated on an opinion.
im back you guys miss me ?
, finished work, decided to log in to wow,
got bored,
now im playing hearthstone
that decision only took 5minutes . lack of content being the culprit
Same. Logged in, stayed 1 hour and a half in solo shuffle queue, and 30 minutes in random bg. Managed to play a game. My full geared charater still feels like a fresh lvl 70 character, because snowflakes that dont even play pvp complained about âequalityâ. Logged out.
Ok but what about us who donât play retail as much anymore, but also donât play classic - like AT ALL ?
How do you explain that?
Why do you think going back to classic design (Slow) would make us enjoy Retail more, when we play neither?
It feels like you target a very niche group to explain away something.
I want classic to be classic, and retail to be retail:
retail just need more actual content (Read; Optional - example Housing, more dungeons, smaller raids, more stuff like the MoP farm or islands (no power gain).)
ive come to terms with the fact that those content options will never be back, they struggle to get a new raid on time let alone a new feature of content
its a shame but its just facts at this point
its bitter pill to swallow but, theres just too many options now that compete with WoW and people want WoW to be top but it just cant compete as they dont for the most part listen to the playerbase and churn out the same problems each expansion
they just cant hit the mark on any of their titles
If you dislike classic, i really dont get why will you not love current wow. Its fast, convenient, easy, instanced, boring and shallow. Whatâs not to love.
Anyway, on a more serious note, people that wish that retail will get more to its roots, are not just the people that play on classic. Most of them just left. Iâm not saying classic as it is now, its beter. Iâm just saying classic roots are way better than retail roots. But it needs to be upgraded to 2023.
Over the years, wow population dropped especially when they chose the modern route. The most loved expansions, are the ones closer to the classic roots. And the worst ones, are the ones that got nothing in common with classic wow.
Well you are right. And there is 1 single reason for it. Acessability. Blizzard used to make great games becouse they simply desing game to be fun and nothing els. Then for some corporate reason they started desing their games not around fun but around participation numbers aka making all their games more acessible for those player metrics. Which is what ruining all their games.
Worst part is that lot clueless players give Blizzard possitive feedback for some of this bad decisions. You know like putting lfr into WoW or having quadriziliom difficulty levels. Both bad decision yet lot of peopel were cheering when they put it into the gamw then wonder why is game so freaking boring.
