GDKPers, boosters and bots have given us a bad rap, when in reality this has been the most enduring community in the history of WoW and is here to stay.
Guess what? With all the hype chasers gone to Anniversary, we are back now to the sweet spot where we can enjoy the unique playstyle Era offers:
The end of the rat race + Get to keep your progress forever
We wish all Anniversary players a blast as well as TBC lovers - Get us some TBC era, would you?
But if you are all about promoting divisiveness in the wider Classic community, I wish you and endless cycle of Fresh-Patch-Expansion-Fresh pain and anxiety.
I am so glad to hear that, even though I am not playing om ERA now, but planning to copy/transfer before TBC. Are you talking about PvP or PvE servers? Currently all my old characters are on PvE, Alliance, so I am curious is the Firemaw way to go with this one, if they allow us, of course.
I’m on Firemaw Alliance. It’s alive and thriving, but there’s obviously a lot of GDKP going on (although very little RMT it seems, the bots and buyers went to fresh apparently). Finding random SR runs for 40 man content isn’t a problem though, I’ve done two of them with groups I didn’t know already this last week.
I hope they will allow transfers to era later, but obviously without the QoL stuff from the fresh realms like dual spec and LFD. We’re doing so well without those things, the game has a much more authentic feel and sense of community, and I hope they just don’t touch era.
I’m glad you have a version of the game you enjoy.
I personally can not imagine playing wow without progression, that is the absolute core of the WoW experience for me, preparing for the next patch, next raid, next expansion. How it shakes things up, changes classes and meta, adds new gear and fun items to acquire. Playing on the same patch forever is to me a complete antithesis of what WoW is and always was. Ever since Beta it was a living, ever-changing game. But to each their own of course.
I must admit, it was never that good playing Classic Era as it is now. All boosters, bots & sweet hands are finally gone and found a new home in fresh realms. Thanks to Bliz that was a perfect move indeed.
Well, to be fair, I started to play Anniversary with my friends but they quit few weeks ago and now I feel bad to drop this character since I quite enjoy in it. That is the only reason why I still didn’t move to ERA or started a new character there. I was concerned that will have troubles with finding groups while leveling and not sure do I really want to repeat the process again with the same class, because I really want to explore what Warlock can offers.
I really hope they will allow us to transfer, because I don’t have many interests in TBC, I will give it a shot surely, but don’t find it as my “main” version of the game. Flying mounts are a bit too much for me and the first thing where Blizz moved too far from Classic. At least for me, this is my opinion of course.
Your guild, The Dungeon Delvers, the OG Firemaw Era leveling guild…
I learnt Rendez Vous has reformed on Horde side recently. 3 out of the 4 original PvE guilds are still alive and kicking. These are:
Rendez Vous, or the Frenchies Classic GmbH, of the Germans Fun Police, or Harkie’s gang
Of course we do have a ton more now, including all sorts of SR, loot council, GDKP. Still, its been years and years of Era, and the old guilds remain. This include also the two Alliance guilds Sulfuras and ACTIVE…
Come back and lets PvP Punkpally. I don’t know if we have either played together or against each other on Era. Either way, you got a good looking stacked pally, that’s for sure.
