On PTR M0 / M+

Can Normal mythic gear be upgraded by valour or only M+ gear?

Thanks

The thread on it explicitly states:-

So I’d say not M0 as it’s not a Keystone Dungeon.

Makes sense. Also makes this change nowhere near as good as people think. As getting gear from keystone dungeons is just as rare as raids.

And if the vault item doesn’t count either. Then the whole system is rather underwhelming.

Their label is set to matching M+ key level so they are M+ gear. As for actual checking if M0 works - the system isn’t yet implemented on the PTR so there are no answers.

It’s not like M0 would be any help, because it has a weekly loot lockout, and drops less items than a key’d run.

On top of that, upgrading from 184 to 220 would likely cost more than upgrading from, say, 207 to 220. So you’re still better off running keys you’d normally do, rather than farming lower level content to fish for upgradable items.

People rejoice, yet I am currently thinking :

Oh so… just like the rest of the vault systems, they will just sneak another nerf excuse that turns the grind up to 11, won’t they?

what is the point of valor points, if you need to run 10+ mythic keystones on high difficulty just to upgrade one piece

Valor will be weekly capped, so it’s not going to be an endless grind. You do the M+ keys you normally do, and you’ll update an item at an appropriate level, most probably. As far as I see from the little information we have, this will be a passive gain which you can then spend, thus, no extra grind necessary, just the content you’d do anyway.

Well as an example I’d much rather grind out that one trinket at 200 and that that just upgrade than everytime you progress you need a new trinket.

I.e Quantum at 200, 203, 205 so on until your gear capped and only need a vault drop.

Issue is that people overlook something (especially when comparing m+ and pvp) - Sure, we know that you will need a base level m+ in order to upgrade, but what are the actual currency rates? Sure in PvP you need to wait for conquest cap (we know there will be a cap here too), but the actual currency to upgrade is honor…
