First you’ll see it on the HC side, then on Era’s shop. And none will care or do anything about it.
Im suspecting this aswell. They’re gonna feed it to us while saying its the ultimate fix for botting, RMT and inflation. I wonder if they intentionally let the Bot numbers grow by inaction on their part to create this situation.
“Whoops, the ultimate soloution to classics economy issues is coincidentally introducing whaling and semi-p2w - which earns us tons of money”
They could just create Gold-sinks to fix inflation (e.g. Dualspec for 1-3k gold) and hire some people which monitor heavily botfarmed dungeons.
Well if they cant get rid of bots it would be a logical thing to do. All the gold sellers revenue is something they could capture with a token as long as that token is cheaper
This is in the very short term, in the medium term i think the game would be finished. I am not going to spend money on a pay-to-win WoW classic version, for example.
Dude its fine if you want to become a wallet-warrior, youre ActiBlizzards chosen one’s.
Dont go around and pretend that modern Blizzard with its budget and employee count cant stem what independent and comparatively small Blizzard did in 2005. I can literally spot bots with /who stratholme. Imagine if there was a GM which could go in the dungeon for 1 minute and check if theres actual people playing.
Is this directed at me ? If so, you misunderstood me. I do not buy any gold, not now and not if there is a token. I will stop playing. Gold in classic is not just cosmetics, it is actually pay-to-win
My point is that they should get anti-cheat and kill all bots (also ban gold seller AND buyers). BUT if they cannot do this (for whatever reason - hiring a guy to look at the EPL chappel every once in a while would go a long way), it makes sense for them to monetize on the gold.
Look, im not sure if you were present in real vanilla, but we who have been there have witnessed how they got rid of bots. Everything they did back then, isnt being done today.
If you were fishing in the same edited by moderation pond in winterspring for 2 hours, a GM would pop up and message you, if you wouldnt respond, you’d get teleported 20m away from the pond to see if you instantly walk back and start fishing without any reaction. Today, blizzard is bragging about banning accounts within 3min of creation while actually doing nothing.
When was the last time youve seen a GM or saw them partake in Chats? Its no happening anymore, it was just a regular thing a couple of years ago.
A company of this size hasnt the slightest excuse while not even employing the most basic and visible methods of anti-botting. Dont get fooled by them saying “we cant do better”. Its simply a question of economics - dont spend money on GM’s, let the thousands of bots pay their Sub, introduce the Token to enable whaling for insane $$$. Blizzard has proven this money-only mentality with every release they did since almost 10 years.
could well be although i would be astonished. But as you say, there is no reason for them not to have GMs look into anything. Either way, all this makes the arrival for a token more likely, not less
Youre right, and thats why im very frustrated about it and spend the time here to voice my opinions on how sh*tty this token is gonna get fed to us.
What frustrates me the most is that Blizzard doesnt even have the decency to show GM presence or try alternate ways to fix the economy - they just gonna pull through and smeer p2w monetisation on the legacy of one of the most beautiful and genre-defining games out there.
It is very simple to get rid of bots. We all see them out in the world, we can all see them on the AH. Blizzard just care more about subscriptions than the integrity of the game. It really detracts from the game but I tolerate it. However, if a WoW token is introduced I’ll just cancel and go and play something else.
Yup any day now. Classic was a mistake. Retail 2.0
True. Such a shame.
Look at the new mobile game Warcraft Rumle- Cash shop is just nuts.
I mean, I understand being against something but … you are also a ActiBlizzard chosen one for the simple fact for being here, much like the rest who goes on and on how evil Blizzard is, yet … they are still subscribed.
Blizzard has indeed, changed a lot in the past …5 years, and for the most part not in a good way, especially with WoW Retail, but … crying left and right how bad Blizzard is but still subbed is …like screaming cigarettes are bad, yet you are smoking them no problem …
Recall the times when Blizzard consisted of a small group of independent peeps, producing games for their own enjoyment, with little concern for being accountable to anyone above or below them?
Yeah.
5? Try 10
I’m calling the police
Criticizing is something entirely different than crying, i know on Online Forums those 2 get confused alot these days, but its alright i guess.
You can be a Hardcore smoker and say smoking is bad. It shows that you know better but havent yet had the strength or discipline to get through with it. Being a hardcore smoker and calling smoking a great thing, is worse.
I criticise Token-implementation because there are indicators that its on the way, this is the best i can do against p2w coming to Era. You should do the same if youre not hoping to wallet-warrior your way to raids soon.
People? Any bot can do that, unless their game is written on a big mess of spaghetti code.
