Optimize your game

War within is so badly optimized you can have pc from NASA and your fps will drop to 0 in many ocasions

ye its a mess. but the 2500 weak auras and addons people are running probably doesnt help

they are needed to play the game at a higher level. Blizzard to reduce complexity or put more things in base UI.

when i had a crappy toaster pc back in SL was lagging in every new zone, dungeon raid etc… once i got a regular toaster pc DF ran flawlessly, now in TWW zones (dornogal excluded) and dungeons are fine but raid no matter what i do i can’t make it over 10-15 fps, on the web interphase of the silken court its like 5fps or below :frowning:

At first I thought this thread was going to offer sound advice, then I thought, it’s going to say optimise it by uninstalling.

Seems it is actually somewhere in the middle.

ye they honestly should embrace more addons into the core game and optimize them.

The optimizations the game needs would not be welcome by the playerbase. It needs to reduce the number of calculations per player per unit time. This can only be accomplished through 2 means:

  • Reduce number of modifiers for everything (ie. less talents, less stats)
  • Reduce number of numbers that pop up per unit time (ie. reduce number of AoE targets or number of hits/damage numbers per second)

If add on makers all quit or if the major ones quit, then blizzard would be force to either take them over themselves and maintain them, or include thei functionality into the game. We saw a start of that in DF with the poiting carat and a semi- useless tom tom

Without addons, this game sinks in less than a month. Nobody will be playing this game.

The few that still be hanging on as they have always played without addons, will not be enough to keep the servers going.

I would not play this game without addons and i run 30. About 5 of those are mandatory for my playing. Vuhdo healing frame is one.

Yeah which kinda sucks dont you think?
In 20 years time it shouldnt be nessecary to use addons and i dont like the fact sone content are based around addons dosent make it better…

Its always been like that. Actualy, before LEGION, it was MUCH worse.
The poor work they did with adding multithreading capabilities to their sibgle thread engine, helped . Still, ways to go before it actually uses all cores. That’s why the game performs poorly, it lags on the CPU, because it still uses - mostly - one core.

Dont expect this small indie company to make any optimisations.
They are too busy counting the cash from boosters…

We have performance profiling for both addons in general and weakauras separately. And even if you disable all the improvement is insignificant.

NASA sent a rocket to the moon using 386 processors, just saying…

It seem to use gpu bad aswell, the micro stutter that was introduced with DF and still remain in TWW, I notice the game drops peoples gpus usage during those spikes so the game show using 20% cpu and yo-yos with gpu with 80% and then sudden drops to 30% when the game makes micro stutter in places like dornogals forge areas.

Battlegrounds are a stutter fiesta aswell with gazillion modifiers and procs everybody have which our cpu would then need to calculate and they just keep on adding more and making game more heavier and graphically more demanding instead of fixing the old mess they already made ages ago and still not fixed any of it

It underuses the gpu because it bottlenecks on the cpu. Its what i have already written just a few posts before.

20% on cpus core usage isnt bottlenecking. Gpu yo-yoing between 80-30% usage when micro stutter also tells that something stop using the gpu. I had writen it in the post that you replied me on.

Cpu bottlenecking looks like over 90% cpu load if you have old cpu and play cpu heavy modern shooter

My PC’s 11 years old… TWW with literally zero addons the game runs well with 90+ fps on graphically settings 7.

Throw in my usual addons my fps starts off fine but it’ll gradually become a slideshow… addons are clogging it.

Theres been micro stutter in wow since prepatch of DF, its quite few years since 2022 now that the game has had this micro stuttering feature.

No, Blizzard would just design the raids in a way, where you don’t need it in that case.

Until they rewrite the engine to fully incorporate multi core CPU’s (which should have been done 15 years ago), then wow is always going to suffer, I can run any current game on ultra at a constant 144fps ultrawide, but wow? Not a chance on ANY graphics preset

It’s depressing
