There is no technology to bring HD models to classic, because then they have to develop also the npcs around you to be HD and that is lot of work.

I suspect this the reason why they removed it on retail too. Cut cost and Bring in the profits.

i wouldnt mind it, wouldnt use it though.

i do use all maxed graphics though, so its doesnt look like original vanilla to me anyway.

This is incorrect. On Retail, during WoD, you could choose new or old models. New models work with the old animations, but old models don’t work with the new animations, that’s why there isn’t an option for old models on Retail.

I’m all for an optional toggle for new models.

While I do agree that the option for it to be there wouldn’t really hurt anyone, as it’s individual for every player. I wouldn’t use it, bhecause I wan’t to differentiate Classic as much from Retail as possible since I play them both.

I DO however, think that it’s not as easy as just flicking a switch and have them all there, and that the hassle to get every single thing up to date is more work than it would pay off in the end.

The boomer-logic here is “Well, it’s Classic so it’s supposed to look like Classic” and I’d have to say that I kind of agree in this sentiment, if it is in fact a task to enable the option.

Yes but now there is more npc to work, you need to bring new artist and pay them money to make new model and etc.

its not like they have a switch, where they just flick it and all new models suddenly appear.

What do you mean, there are more NPC models? All models that exist in Classic existed on Retail when the new models were created. So it is just a matter of implementing a toggle for new models on Classic.

The new models do not fit the aesthetics of everything else. You would have to remake all items and areas to fit the higher polygon count. Also they are ugly as hell. I don’t want my orc to look like a Disney character to someone else. The visual experience between players should be uniform.

No new models. Go play retail.

They didn’t bother remaking the old areas for Retail, so why would they do that for Classic. I like playing my HD models in low poly areas. I have no problem with it.

A matter of personal taste, you like to play with the old models so you can play with the old models. A toggle would allow the players that want to play with new models to play with new models.

I disagree. The change of models in my screen has zero effect on other players, since they can’t even see or know what characters look like in my screen.

Yes please!

Even if it was just the option to make my character, on my screen, the updated model and keep everyone else’s the same (one big argument I see - not including the grandpa and grandma #nochanges crowd - is that people design their character to look a specific way and I can understand that). I played back in vanilla and the models sucked back then - they suck just as much now.

No, they look ugly and the casting animations are crap too, keep it as it is, and as for making an option, why? This is classic wow so old models is part of that, let Blizz make an option in retail to give me my old model back, that would be better…

Would really like the option to change it.
I play classic for the mechanics, not the looks.
So would love to have improved looks.

This is why people mock and troll you guys, you can’t discuss things like adults and just act like children.

There is no need to discuss this.

Classic is supposed to be the most authentic vanilla experience we could get.
And adding anything on top of that is destroying the authenticity and misses the point of what it is supposed to be.

Really no discussion required.
