Orc Priests - lore

First time you meet Cowled Ranger:

QUEST: The Huntresses

Description

I do not wish to come out of the shadows, but I mean you no harm. My purpose here is my own secret to keep, I simply needed a warm place to bed down for the night.

I can see that you are not the type to be easily swayed into leaving. Very well, perhaps you can aid me in my search.

I am looking for someone, it is not important who. All you need to know is that I will reward you for any sign of high elven weaponry that you should come across.

Completion

This is… it can’t be.

I must be off, here is your reward. I do not part with it lightly…

Second time (repeatable):

QUEST: Fate of the Fallen

Description

I feel that I can trust you, perhaps. You have, at least, not spoken of my secret to anyone, and for that I thank you.

I have need of your aid again, and in return, I will share some of my own information. I am here, you see, to find an elf by the name of Alleria. She was lost years ago, on Draenor. It is my faint hope that the twisting nether brought her here.

I do not know if such a thing is even possible, but do keep an eye out for any signs of high elves as you travel.

Completion

Another one? How curious.

I may not be much closer to finding her, but these arrows bring some comfort to me, at least.

And yes, the quest item is gotten from Shadowmoon Burial Ground.

Or just maybe, just maybe, the Lightforged have free will which would explain everything without crying out bad game design or bad writing. After all Void Elves have their free will intact even if they hear constant whispers from the Void Lords so why not Lightforged?

When they are used singularly, or used to list something. I think you should freshen yourself up with some grammar rules.

I appreciate the feedback and enjoy the discussion.

You guys got me thinking how little we know about the Light.

My concerns with playing an Orc priest are how can I play a Light wielder… I think I’m going to think more about my character learning much of their knowledge through contact with the Draenei, and then relearning as they level up through Azeroth.

I was thinking perhaps the Naaru operate on a totally different wavelength then us, making timelines less consequential. Do we know how Naaru communicate?

I wonder if they have a sort of hive mind and are always connected to other Naaru regardless of time. They seem to sense when another is suffering and so forth. I wonder if this could connect through timelines and dimensions. So that ‘orders/needs’ could be transmitted to other Naaru.

Well the most lore-friendly way is to play it as Shadow Priest and abhor the Light as do other Mag’har.

However if you want to play Holy/Disc priest then it could be that you learned how to wield the Light when you fought with the Draenei against the Legion but didn’t become a Lightbound when that came around because you realized they were zealots, that the Lightbound were extremists but the Light itself shouldn’t be blamed for that zealotry, or you simply didn’t wish to give yourself fully to the service of the Light. Of course returning back to your people you were seen as if you were a leper and a traitor but still you continued helping them against the Lightbound even if they didn’t want your help. Over time you might have earned grudging respect from others and so were willing to take you with them when you fled Draenor rather than leaving you to the mercy of the Lightbound.

Isn’t it nice how they flipped the trope. It’s usually the Dark/Shadow/evil-doer that is shunned. Now we can play edgy-forbidden-Light enticed characters.

I wonder what my Light-themed metal music soundtrack would sound like.
