I just dont get why they still talking about mental mindset of palyers then vs now… I just want to know what is different in game because I never had a chance to play original wrath some people wrote what i wanted to listen, but not many.
Exactly. Yesterday on reddit I saw a post where the platform on Malygos bugged out and didn’t break, breaking the fight completely. Turns out that bug has been in there since OG WotLK.
Another funny thing is how before classic they had to release tons of posts explaining why some things reported as bugs aren’t bugs but people remembering it incorrectly.
The level of sophistication regarding botting - automated resource gathering and gold generation, gold selling/buying, and the lack of any response from Blizzard to bots at all (although not sure if it was like this in original).
The biggest difference is balance changes.
Each patch of the original wotlk had it’s own set of balance changes (this included mostly but not only talent and spell changes).
Now, we have the latest set of talents and spells that was released on Icecrown Citadel patch. Original developers obviously didn’t thought of Naxxramas being ever replayed with improved talents and spells, so didn’t take it into account. This is one of the topmost reasons why Naxx feels so easy.
It will fell better as we will be getting closer to original ICC content, but for P1 it’s horrible
The community were more fun and adult compared to Classic.
You say that is if they ever have plan to unlock RDF in phase 4.
They probably will.
Let’s bet on it!
That Malygos bug is a very well known one, and you’re absolutely right that it’s been there since 2008.
I’m just waiting for the first guild in 2023 to be blanket banned by Blizzard for using Saronite Bombs to defeat Arthas!
If My memory serves me right there where not in death knights dedicated talent tree for tanking and dps. Before cata câme they launch pre patch with the Blood talents being tank spec. Gear of quests was slighty better the TBC raid gear. There where no way pvp geared player would Survive long as it is know. Dungeons where harder and players where unable to skip trash mobs because of the way they where acting in original. Classes where not that balance and with later patchs they fix what they think it should be fixed. There where no gdkps and bots and gold sellers. Player base where more mature
Never forget the 5 man death knights clearing TBC dungeons.
Man, they were crazy OP.
there was no gdkp organizations selling so openly in lfg. back then, it was frowned upon if you bought carries, for that cheapened the titles. you could not simply buy gold with real money just to buy gear in the game. gold selling has always been a thing along with bots…but not at this proportion.
By better you mean more bugs and a lot more unbalanced and OP classes?
It was …better because it was New.
Its mostly balance changes and some other features either missing or added …
Patches were more focused on current content, that doesnt mean everything was balanced perfectly, but classes felt differently on each patch/season/tier, now we have end of wotlk balance, meaning some classes are stronger than they were at the start, while some will have to wait for S7/S8 to be in their right place …
Also bugs, theres sooo many bugs, original wotlk was also buggy, but they constantly worked on them and they were coming in slowly over time …
Now we have whole expansion worth of bugs, half of them stuff blizz already fixed, the other half bugs known and fixed from pservers … and noone is working on classic, so by the time they fix one, hundred more pops up …
Not sure if that was intentional change or bug/oversight but the portal to lower part of Maraudon is permanently open while in original you’d need to complete the quest with the staff in order to get an option to open it. Said quest also bugged out on me and NPC would get stuck not initiating proper animation. Death knight starting experience wouldn’t allow me to loot weapon rack where the starting sword is fir good 30 minutes until it started working out of blue. So the bugs are certainly there
Not encountered the DK one, it worked fine for me. But I’d never have known about Mauradon. Not been in that place for over a decade.
So nobody in your guild (including yourself) has gotten an achievement since wotlk classic prepatch? (no broadcast, no sound)
You didn’t do any heroics the first 2 weeks of wotlk classic? (stone keeper shards or emblems not tracking)
You never had your layer win a WG but you didn’t get the buff or controlled WG?
These are some easy ones you can’t miss, and I’m sure there’s many more obvious ones, among the many not so obvious ones. If you’ve played a boomie you’d have your escape key stop working daily until you figured out the cause and fix.
I mean sure you can never see a single bug, but I’m pretty sure you’re playing a different game or not playing at all.
Also another difference between the 2 wotlks:
Original Wotlk has a portal to WG for whichever faction controls it.
People now think we still in 2008 with the same objectiv and mentality.
That’s the difference
Classic is more bugged and unless it’s about something gamebreaking, there is almost 0 support or communication from the devs. Sometimes not even then.
Also most of the community is all about efficiency.
Nope. Never done a WG, never played a Boomkin, didn’t even log in for first two weeks so unaffected by shards issue. Not noticed any issues with achievements I get notifications just fine.
Naxx is actually harder than in OG wrath…
