Outgrew the use of Runed Crests what now?

So I recently outgrew the use of Runed Crests but my gear can be upgraded even more, for that I need Gilded Crests but now the problems start since I only play solo content and have no trouble of getting through T8 Delves. And only way for me to get Gilded Crests is from a Map drop or Zekvir pop, and that is just RNG and happens rarely or to grind 2 Runed crests per delve run and I need 90 runed for 15 gilded crests which is crazy and will take 45 runs…

Doing T9-11 Delve or above has nothing to offer, if they were to increase Runed Crests drop from those or add Gilded Crests at the end of T11 I would surely hunt for those.

Now I feel like I have nothing to do, other than joining some pug hc raid… but the reason I do solo content is that I don’t have time for those big raids or time to search for high m+ groups.

Hope those higher delves will be properly rewarded so we can upgrade our gear even more.

It generally works that you don’t need to upgrade you gear anymore unless you go into Mythic content. Consider your job complete and now have fun and wait until season 2 so you can start all over again :slight_smile:

619 is the intended ilvl ceiling for delves. Gilded crest content is harder than what delves offer. Just creat 4/6 hero and 8/8 champion as the same.

Once you have a 619 in every slot you can trade up 90 runed crests for 15 gilded but it’s not really going to be get you much further.

If you maxed your gear to 619 you can start convert runed to gilded crests at a rate of 90 runed for 15 Gilded.
By filling the vault each week you get 45 runed witch means you get 15 gilded every two weeks.

I wouldnt say it is a very fast progress but… it is progress.

For gilded you need +8, which is not high. Only annoyance is to get the key to+8, cause there are truly awful people in the previous bracket.

Farming gilded also allow you to craft 636 gear which is a nice upgrade from 619.

I would give it a shot if i were you, 8-10 bracket this late in the season is super easy.

I guess my point was that there are 3 unused tiers of delves which can perfectly fit the role of harder content and give better reward in the end.

Converting crests and also hoping for Delver’s Bounty to drop are your only options unfortunately.

Yeah,
converting crests takes forever and it is way more time consuming to get 15 Gilded crests by converting than anything else in this game.

Hoping for a map to drop or Zek to pop is also very tiresome.

but we do pay for this as well as those guys with tons of time to play, we should be given some better access to gilded crests than what we have currently.

That’s why I proposed T11 to drop Gilded and 9-10 more Runed crests.

Not really, you can do it with 619 gear. As mentioned above, 619 is the end of Delves gear upgrade. Nothing wrong with that, if you really want to go further you can go Mythic + or Raid.

If you want to only play Solo, then it stops here. You can accumulate some crest and trade them but it’s not worth the time to be honest.

As you said, you are a solo player. But you can still make some group content if you can find the time. Puny mentioned good communities if you want some peaceful people to play with: Players Unable to Upgrade Delve Items - #7 by Punyelf-draenor

Start gearing an alt up to the same level; you’ve simply reached the maximum possible for solo players. Devs aren’t able and unwilling to provide truly challengeing solo content that would actually be on the level of M+/raids that provides equal gear, so that was it for your first char.

You’ve hit your progression wall and I’m about to do it soon as well. ilvl 619 is a hard progression wall for anyone who doesn’t do M+ or raids in TWW.

A nicer way to say it would be “congratulations, you beat the game - now start over (level an alt) or wait until the next season drops”.

Blizzard really messed up character progression in TWW; there should always be something non-raiders/m+ players can do to improve their characters even if it requires a bit of a grind or RNG, something they feel they can strive towards (no, doing 1440 Delves for Crests to upgrade ilvl 619 → 626 isn’t a grind, its slow suicide. The option might as well not exist), but in TWW you basically continue to progress your character at a rapid pace until you wake up one day and realize that there’s nothing for you to do anymore, quite literally.

T9+ should drop increased Runed Crests or even a few Gilded Crests, that way solo-players would still have something they feel they can strive/grind towards, and T9-T11 wouldn’t be content that was quite literally dead on arrival.
Instead Delves higher than T8 do jack s*** except give some stupids achievements.

Yeah, Blizz really dropped the ball on this one. An opportunity that wagged its behind right in their face and they still missed it.

Problem is that blizzard did not know how to balance delves, so they made them as easy as it gets, and capped the rewards so to not make them “needed” for end game.

I think they will first rework them completely before adding gilded crests/ myth track gear from them, so that they are on par difficulty wise with raids and m+.

World content really does not feel like the “4th” pillar people were promised just yet, but blizzard are hard stuck because if you make solo play to hard then people will complain so what are they meant to do.

Yet when the same is said about M+ players, and they ‘need’ to raid to get better gear, then suddenly that’s not okay?

Better to make solo play too easy than too hard.

If M+ players feel they “need” to do it then they can always do it. After all, it’s a bit harder to tell solo-players to find a M+ group than to tell a M+ player to do some (“easy”) solo content. :stuck_out_tongue:

I liked Legion mage tower the best i did each spec back then, some when it first came out then lots more at the end when you could over gear it and i think thats how the current mage tower should be and anything else to come like it.

I’m sorry, but if you only do solo content and you already managed to beat Zekvir and cap your runned crests, what do you need that better gear for?

And by the same reasoning there are countless levels of M+ that give no rewards.

The whole point is that if you go up above the 619 /Hero tier, the vast majority are doing it for the enjoyment and /or personal challenge, and there is no reson to add gear rewards to that because all it will inevitably lead to is even more whining from people that can´t clear the content not being able to get the rewqards from it.

I personally prefer delves over M+, but the difference in challenge between a D11 and a +8 is night and day, especially if you´re running the delves as a group. I wouldn´t be averse to them lifting up the bountiful +Map for 619 requirement up to 10s or 11s to be honest, beause as it stands teh only reason m+ isn´t completely dead <+8s is because crest farming in delves isn´t even remotely efficient.

The former also has a plethora of viable reasons not to run m+ (community toxicity usually being the front runner by a country mile…), whereas the keypusher almost always only has “but I don´t wanna” as an excuse. :wink:

But, as far as the OT, if you´re really only rinning OW content and delves, 619 is already hilariously overgerared, and you still have the path to the mythic mog via trading up runed to gilded… It takes a while, 2 weeks /item if you´re only running delves (not counting ofc the crests from teh delves tehmselves)… but on the other hand, the game also has no more content to offer you until Jan /Feb, so what else would you be doing instead? :wink:

Dear Lord its carnage down there atm. Had a 620 frost dk doing 475k dps. People dropping like flies in ara-kara from standing in… everything. Just depleted a 4. A 4! The first singularity on the last boss 4 people died. Reset, pull again, 3 people die on first singulatiry. Next pull 4 survive the singularity so the tank decides to get web stunned and die. Tank dies to multiple poison waves. 3 more people die to a singularity. I think we racked up 27 deaths on the last boss.

If people are doing keys that low that late in the season they are either really bad or re-rollers. It’s a crapshoot.

If I were the OP I’d probably decide the juice isn’t worth the squeeze and stick with 619.
