I already decided which faction/class/race to pick (human warrior or gnome warrior), so it’s not about me choosing, however, I do wonder what you guys think is the best race overall for warriors in classic wow?
Overall? Orc warrior, no doubts, it’s absolutely BIS for both pve and pvp.
Stun resist (+25%) is absolutely bonkers in pvp, to the point where it was nerfed in tbc, and nerfed again later. Alliance has tons of stuns (paladins with their HOJ, more hunters, melees everywhere), every class (even locks) except shamans have stuns, and it works against pvp grenades and tidal waves, and basically every stun. Blood fury is also great to burst someone down. Add windfury to this and you really have an unstoppable burst monser.
In pve, you have the axe weapon skill bonus racial and blood fury, 'nuf said.

How is orc bis for pve, when humans have specialization on the best 1h weapons?
For pvp it is also not orc, it is gnome, because escape artist gives you a fighting chance against mages, as well as alliance having paladins on your side.
Windury is overrated and rng af. It is weaker than triple blessing for pve and unreliable for pvp.

For PvP I would say tauren maybe? They have slightly bigger melee range (undocumented), and I think that is priceless for a class anyone tries to get away from.
For PvE human, with the skill.
For RP orc, nothing looks more smashier than orc warrior.
Do you know what overall means?
Is human BIS for pvp? No it’s trash
Is gnome BIS for pve? Nope it’s human
Orc is BIS for pve AND pvp with the weapon bonus skill and the stun resist racial AND blood fury.
Kind of exaggerating though. Orc racial is rng. Humans are better than orc in pvp too

Op, it depends. For pve, human is the best because the best one handed weapons are swords. For pvp, orc is by far the best.
Paladins enable warriors a lot, but shamans make them way more burstier and assist them a lot: geared ele/resto shamans are monster one shotters.
I’d give the edge to orcs overall

Edit: Was a gnome warlock on a private server, very cute but getting new gear wasnt visually important. That sucked.

Depends on the guild you are in. Some guilds prioritize giving gear to humans, regardless the dificulty of the content. Most don’t care. I would probably go for gnome, because they don’t disgust me as much as dwarfs. The reason why I rolled a human priest for example is because I can’t stand dwarfs. So it is a personal preference.
I can’t really stand gnomes visually tbh, but I like humans a lot. I should prioritize the looks I assume?

the best racial for warriors is paladins anyways, like other people said. They enable them way too much in pve and pvp

Human. 
That sword/mace skill is big, and most of the relevant endgame weapons are swords or maces.
