When I first did these on the PTR when it started, they where very difficult, even at iL 660. I remember the mobs hit like a brick and i died quite a few times and actually had to move out of stuff and CC/interrupt mobs and actually had to change my spec to fit specific delve runs.
Now 11 overcharged delves are just a total cakewalk for anyone above 660. Ok i am 5 iL’s higher now, but i just feel there is no challenge.
Would it not have been better just to introduce level 12-15 delves with higher rewards/more crests? The whole system seems to have been nurfed to suit the casual 2 day a week player imo
I don’t find them challenging as well. Once you have unlocked all perks in the tree, they are even easier than regular ones, and by a lot imo.
It will only get easier when people start filling out those DISC-belt talents, they will make getting hit by those spire-things give buffs, and remove the snare from those landmine-things.
Delves are content for casual players though (Or rather, due to the massive disparity in spec toolkits, it’s nigh-impossible to tune them to be very difficult, yet fair), so in that respect it makes sense that they’re easy.
The delves are really a failed feature, I already knew it when it was announced but they surprised me by doing worse than I would have thought
I dont like delvis and dont like that I need to do to for the belt. I feel blizzard force people into delves because not many do it anymore.
If that’s the underlying logic, what are we to make of a time gated renown track with mounts, LfR, story mode, and the cartel chip system, just to prod people into raids?
…or there’s nothing insidious behind either of them (You know, activity going down as it always does because the season keeps dragging on…), and we’re just letting our biases get to us, it’s one of those two.
Its pretty hard to stay awake as you whack the enemies for ages
Bullet sponges are the pinnacle of gameplay!
Imagine content you outgear isn’t a challenge.
Imagine being happy with playing the game without pushing numbers.
Do enemies have more health if the delve is overcharged? I wouldn’t have recognized at least
It’s a cakewalk at even lower Ilvl, especially if you play healer but also on this frost mage.
I liked Delves last season, it was challenging and actually hard once you got over delve 8. This season I feel like Delves has been all cakewalk. I have been able to solo 11’s since the start with no real sweat.
So I too was looking forward to the Overcharged Delves, but it is only new mobs and lighthing puddles on the floor, otherwise no changes
Guess what type of player delves are aimed at?
That’s the whole idea.
I would have them expected to be challenging at release, and still at least more difficult than regular delves after having unlocked all console perks.
I have a friend who does about 100 delves per week (don’t ask why, none of us know).
So I asked him, what do you get from overcharged delves? Do they give better rewards or something?
He says, well no, they are basically the same but you can now progress through a little tree that makes running them a little faster.
So a couple of things occured to me. One, if you just didn’t run the delves in the first place you wouldn’t need to grind buffs to speed them up. Two, if you do want to get the mount for filling out the tree then you get the same amount of shards from a level 1 as a level 11. So essentially they have added a ‘harder’ mode and incentivised you to run it on the easiest difficulty.
then dont do them .let others enjoy it who do.
you forgot about point 3 - they are fun for people who enjoy them - like your friend being a prime example that yes - people do find them really fun
Nobody is forcing you to run these delves, and a lot of people do them.
You do know you can run these solo, right?
Like, you don’t need to wait for a full group to run these.
the difficulty is mechanical, I strongly disagree that 12 to 15 would be more challanging, that’d just be delves as we have them but the mobs HP bars have bloated even further
I will take the mechanical difficulty dancing around abilities while avoiding the lightning traps on the ground 200 times out of a 100 over the same delve but mobs hp just gets bloated even more.
Is it much harder? no, but it’s a better type of harder then oh the 60m mobs? they have 120m hp now.
No, I checked. None of the new mobs have 60m hp range which is usually what the big mobs are (lizard rider, drill sergeant, big kobold, etc), attendants and matrixes are around 20m the rest around 30m
The new rare that comes with it drops extra titan disc shards instead of a power that’s the biggest difference I’ve seen.
Edit: I also noticed I got 10 gilded crests at the end of an overcharged delve t11 instead of 7, but I’m not sure if that’s an overcharged thing or they just buffed gilded at t11 from the end chests
90% of the content in WoW has no challenges, because it’s either farming old content, or there’s simply no challenges like the Delves, a disgusting duo…
Even the raid has become cringe-worthy with all the nerfs and buffs.
Content without challenges and interesting rewards cannot be interesting.
The Mage Tower was very good solo content, for example, with nice bosses (without being too hard, a well-balanced difficulty) and good rewards.
To have endless, engaging content, it’s very simple.
rewards
season
mod
challenge
speedrun
You don’t have to have everything, but it’s just so you get the idea.
In this case, the only point is to farm the delves once a week for the belt, or maybe farm one of your second trinkets.
but I would be very surprised if you do it for fun if you have already done it/had what you want
yep its very boring…just did it for the powerprogression
Its delves, its semi boring one player content to get easy gear for your next alt and then go into mplus/raid
