I want to see if there is any demand for a paid character migration service just like in retail where we can pay XX amount to migrate our characters from one server to another regardless of server population status.
My friends are playing on Shazzrah, and because of my full time employment i just didnt have the possibility to queue for several hours so i created my character on a low population server and thought that paid character migration already was available later on and that i would change servers later.
After discussing it with a GM, iâve been enlightened that the paid service doesnât exist nor do blizzard have any plans for it. The nice GM told me to try and build some opinion about it on Forums and if blizzard see a profit and potential in the idea, they might consider it.
Surely iâm not the only one with employment who had to seperate from their real life (or otherwise) friends because of the queues?
What are your thoughts on this? Now that queuetimes are becoming more and more stable in even the most popular servers we should get the chance to reunite with our friends who had the time to live through the extreme queue times of the first couple of weeks.
While it would help few people, i see this as a âyou issueâ we, who wanted to play on full servers, we waited in que, u wanna play with friends and u choose different server as they do ( no matter reason) its just stupid imho, there still are ques at some times about 1-2h⌠So simoly reroll or tell them to migrate to your realm for free, easy solution, blizz made enough mess and they are trying to fix it now, dont expect blizz to solve problem you created⌠Thats just my opinion
I believe it would help alot more people than you think. You are just being spiteful because you had to sit through the queues and we chose to skip them by starting on a fresh server but the reality is that we had no other choice because of work routines etcâŚ
World of warcraft is all about playing together with friends so implementing paid character transfer would be good for that purpose. Also, blizzard would make money from it and itâs just a service for the players. Queues now are 1-2 hours but on launch week we were experiencing 8+ hours of queue timeâŚ
So u say u choose it, with your free will, to skipp ques to get ahead and now u wanna go back

Anyway, im not defending blizzard, but u choosed this, u made âmistakeâ and now u wanna blizz to fix it.. Yes for money bit still.. Dont worry they will introduce it, but it wont be any soon after free transfers
I choose it because of my daily life didnt go along with 10 hour queues. Is that really so weird? Itâs not a âmistakeâ which i âregretâ. I literally had no other choice and i think alot of people feel the same way. Had it been 1-2 hour queues like it is now then i would stick to the full servers from the start.
I want this post to be positive and that people agree that they should implement it. Literally NOBODY has anything to lose, and many of us have alot to win including blizzard and their economy.
Iâm thinking maybe they should have some kind of a rule or âcooldownâ on how often you can migrate so that you dont abuse it and ninja loot or greif etc.
U think u are only one with job and real life? There were sooo many ways how to avoid ques, the easiest one was to just wait..
Yea just those of us who stayed on those full servers evene there were ques and now when its looks good people wanna transfer back and bring ques back..
Dont worry, they will introcude something like this, and afaik there was paid transfer in vanila, just not on release, AND NOT FROM LOW POP SERVERS TO FULL JUST FEW DAYS AFTER THEY ALLOW YOU TO MIGRATE FOR FREE VICE VERSA, so can we finaly stop with those threads? Thank you
I would love for them to implement the Character transfer like it use to be,with the 6 month transfer cooldown,make it a year for all i care, so i am for it.
I had the same problem couldnt handle queues on Firemaw ( at the beginning) and created toon on low pop realm. I plan to use paid character transfer service when I hit the 60 level.
Some other real life issues that we must take into account? Better tell them now so we are prepared when Blizzard begins to accommodate the game for you personally.
I just gave the post some context for why this situation occured and being full time employed is a normal thing for most of us thatâs why i thought alot of people would relate. This has nothing to do with my âpersonal requestsâ.
