Hello,
Are paid transfers available yet?
Hello,
Are paid transfers available yet?
Nope.
Why though? I’d love to play with my friends who started on different realms.
Nothing prevents you from rerolling on the realms with your friends.
I understand the unnamed argument that you’d rather save time by transferring a ready to go toon. However, for seasonal realms like SoD and SoM in the past the developers simply don’t want paid transfers to happen. If they wanted the money they would’ve enabled them from the get go.
If serious realm population issues happen, they will offer FreeCM’s instead and/or merge realms. There could be a chance in the future.
Ok but that doesn’t actually explain why. “They didn’t want it” isn’t a reason. Why did they not want it?
Rerolling on realms with friends is a possibility yes, but it’s one that assumes I’m willing to spend an obscene amount of time to get my character back up to the point where I’m at on my character right now which simply isn’t realistic on a dad schedule. SoD simply isn’t very friendly to new characters with all the reputations, runes and now prebis gearing to catch up on.
I just don’t understand why you prefer not offering transfers over having them show in the shop and not be useable.
Also, serious realm population issues are already currently happening, and have been for a long time, yet there haven’t been free transfers in ages. If I would like to transfer my horde character from Crusader Strike (~58.5% horde based on unofficial sources) to Wild Growth (28.5%) I would be helping out the server balance but even that I cannot do.
Why aren’t we just given the opportunity to make our own choices on whether we want to spend money on seasonal characters?
It is a reason that they don’t want your money to offer this feature, that you disagree with being the reason.
That is not entirely correct, the last free transfers occured this year late April which is 3-4 months ago~ which actually caused the realm population issues due very high popularity.
The developers explain a bit about the realm population controls in the same post too below. You understand already that there are serious consequences and that it will likely get worse.
Then the subsequent problem that came after that is this:
Pending a full merge and other finishing moves later this year.
Edit: If you have further feedback you may also submit it through the ingame box. It is unlikely they will do anything until they finish the planned mergers though.
No, that’s a conclusion, not a reason. What is the reason why?
“I want transfers to open” isn’t a reason either, that’s why I add in my explanations why.
3-4 months is a long time, that’s more than an entire phase, the entire game has changed since then. Especially on PvP servers there is now an event every other hour that makes it a living hell to get into instances in BRM, giving some people who didn’t want to get off the pvp servers on the last free transfer regrets about not getting out when they could.
The high popularity of use shows you that it’s a feature that people want, so why not just offer it? I understand not wanting to enable server balance getting worse, but you can at least offer transfers that improve that balance actively instead of having people waiting and hoping to maybe eventually a phase or 2 from now being able to transfer without any clarity whatsoever about when that’ll come and which directions they become available.
Useless discussion, wont Change anything, why do you try so hard
You can bold the conclusion all you like but that doesn’t change it into a reason.
I want to pay money to transfer.
The above statement is a conclusion drawn from reasons such as my friends play on another server, starting a new characters is a time investment that isn’t realistic with my lifestyle, pvp servers have gotten worse with phase changes. These are reasons.
The only reason you’ve given in your replies if the server pop imbalance, which is a good one! However that still does not explain why transfers that improve that imbalance arent offered, either free or paid.
I would love to hear the reasoning behind my earlier example not being offered:
Thank you for cutting off my sentence in your quote and ignoring the rest completely, to then answer it with putting the words in my mouth that it will likely get worse.
If feedback is genuinely something that is appreciated, I recommend you read the rest of the sentence past your quote.
