I am dwarf paladin. Should i waste treasure find for another gathering profession like mining/herbalism?
Depends what you’re after. You will make more gold with mining or herbalism than with treasure finding, though.
Mining/Blacksmithing?
Mining, engineer and get gnomish deathray. You should only use find treasure to check hotspots with many mobs where chests normally spawns (or caves), but it’s like one click and “oh nothing there, nvm”.
Engineering might not get you a lot of income, but bombs while lvling is so good for paladins. And deathray with bubble can be a lot of fun.
Pretty good for most things to be honest. It’s only spam-happy casters that don’t appreciate a good boom now and then.
I took blacksmith to make some good items.
Engineering covers a lot of the shortcomings of the Paladins. Net-o-matic and grenades are excellent gap closers, reflectors are always fantastic. Rocket helmet, rocket boots, etc really help.
Absolutely a profession you should pick as a Paladin. The second profession is however entirely up to you. I think herbalism is pretty nice though, as you can AoE farm inside Dire Maul East once that release and pick the herb nodes inside (assuming they were not patched out at some point before 1.12)
I couldn’t agree more, engineering is a must for a paladin for more than PvP reasons.
Not only that, but it’s probably the best gold maker in the game and I’m not even kidding.
Some of this may not hold true not that some raw materials no longer cost 1.2x at AH, but engi has quite a few items to make for DE, quest items for which there is guaranteed demand and there are some items that you could even vendor for some guaranteed profit.
One of the things people didn’t tell you at launch is that gathering professions are a terrible way of making gold. I took tailoring/engi as I leveled, I’m lvl 51 right now and have hundreds in gold and assets, and by the time I hit 60 I’ll probably have enough for my epic mount.
You stash them. When I was level 40 I just logged to my bank alt and sold all tin and bronze bars nearly instantly. By the end of the day I had everything needed. Later on iron bars started selling and so forth.
At level 60 it’s worth doing all the end game quests as their gold reward increases when you are at max level. That plus income from instances gives epic mount easily.
Quest items that engi or alchemy has will sell quite nicely, or until people are leveling through them.
That’s true, but if it’s about stashing there are other items that will increase in value even more as the economy matures.
There’s little point in doing anything to make 20s at lvl 15 if you’re just gonna let it sit there are not invest it.
Second this. Gnomish Day Ray as a paladin is crazy fun!
On a fresh realm that’s the only short term income source. On current realms it’s not really worth it unless stashing to train professions (like mining/skinning and then mining/engi or alike). Fishing may rise to power too.
I took blacksmithing, cause i don’t know if i will play till 60, or if i even raiding at all. I dont have much time…
Also most people say that with engineering dont make much money. Some recommend taking 2 non-gathering professions, but this could only work if you have an alt gathering materials for you, or buying then in AH? So much time also… Not for me.
