So guys, i gotta ask, most of you keep talking about freezes, but i do have lag spikes since Season 2.
The game isn’t freezing, it’s just a big lag for a couple of seconds (walking on the spot) then everything speeds up.
This happens randomly in dungeons and raids mostly, but just had it happen in Dornogal too.
This can happen once per day, or several times a day.
Totally random.
My Gbit Internet is fine otherwise, no problems in other games etc.
PS: i have turned of the CPU profiling via ingame command, it does nothing, FPS wise or lag wise for me

Just to confirm what GoForce said above; I ran three dungeons with addon monitoring turned off and got 2 freezes so I think we can strike that from the list of possible solutions too.
I’m also experiencing the same issue. It happens randomly since version 11.1. At first, I thought it was caused by my CPU and RAM overclocking, but I reverted them, and the problem persists. I’ve repaired the game, updated the drivers, and nothing seems to help. I’ve even broken some M+ high keys because of this and wasted pulls on Mythic Progress. Sometimes the freeze leads to a crash with no error [have to end task it], and other times it lasts up to 10 seconds!

GPU: 1070 Ti
CPU: 5600X
OS: Windows 11 Pro 24H2
RAM: 16 GB
Please address this issue—it’s becoming incredibly frustrating!

Something i wanna add, everytime this “lag” happens, my stream (YT/Twitch) on the 2nd display starts buffering.
I think this might be important to get to the root of the problem because someone on the US thread said that he noticed his ethernet connection spike everytime this “freeze” happens.
At first i was just thinking my ISP is having problems but now it makes sense that it could be the game causing this.
Someone else said this ethernet bug might be related to a Win11 update, but i’m on W10, so that can’t be it.
Also when this happens, my ingame latency says 13-15ms (which is my normal latency), though a couple of times the world ms went up.
My internet is fine otherwise.
I think this needs to be the game, not the ISP because the reported occurrences are full in-game freeze, not lag. There also other threads about lagging, which people already pointed out are on Blizz side, but not being an expert I cannot say for sure - this however looks like a game issue, specially cause for most people it only started to happen after 11.1
Well sometimes those lags really look like a latency spike or connection loss but then other times it looks more like the game is freezing for a sec or two.
Kinda like it’s trying to load or calculate something but there is a huge bottleneck somewhere or a memory leak or whatever.
All i can say is that it started happening randomly with Season 2 start.

Same issues ongoing in cataclysm for weeks now
Ye this is getting silly 
I have a 4090 GPU, Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of ram.
Yet it freezes like crazy. Got worse today when I updated my Nvidia driver, so thinking of trying a rollback 2-3 updates.
Also noticed a improvement if I put my graphic settings down to 6.
But with a beast like this it should not be a freeze every couple of minutes xD
See there lies the problem.
You shoul’ve upgraded to a 5090, 9950X3D and 128GB of RAM by now.

Same here, started a couple days ago. Random 5second freeze maybe 1-2 times a night. Anywhere from raiding to m+, disabled all combatlogging, overlays etc. still happening.
One time it didn’t even freeze, the game was disconnecting (team walking in place, I can move but not do any imputs) and at the same time I still had internet and I could talk to my team on discord. After restarting the game my cursor was completely gone, even without addons and a reload. I had to restart the game again to make the cursor return. Something really messed up going on with the game itself. I know anytime something like this has happened in the past nothing I we can do to fix it until Blizzard does a patch/hotfix. It could last an entire patch if we’re unlucky.

Same freezes here, so frustrating. I’ve died in multiple keys to this now, managed to get a clip of it happening last week for anyone that wants to see if it’s the same issue. Random freezing. - Twitch
Been having the same issues on retail since Season 2 started. I play in the same household as another player, often group together. We don’t get freezes at the same time. Freezes will last for a few seconds, I can see task manager on another screen and there are no spikes in PC performance.
Doesn’t happen across other games we play.

Having the same issue. Never happened before in Season 1.
for me its either at the start of a boss pull in mythic plus or occasionally mid boss fight. Freezes for about 5-6 seconds but can still hear sound then game continues as normal.
Really annoying
The freezes are getting worse it seems, and still no official communication from Blizzard as to this is being looked at…
I’m still baffled as to why I keep getting surprised by them over and over again…
I have the same problem.
I have a suggestion for you not to wait 5-6 seconds until this problem is solved. If you alt+tab when the freezing starts, it goes away immediately.

I am thinking about to buy 7900XT, I have 7800x3d and 980ti atm. No problem at the moment but It’s time to retire my 10-year-old GPU. Do you have any problem with that card?
Still getting the freezes, at least 1 per dungeon it seems and sometimes two so feels like it is actually worse.
Game basically halts, fans on my gfx card spin down because the card has nothing to do and then a few seconds later things start again and I get to see if anyone has died.
I opened a ticket in game, just for the gist of it, and 2 GM replied to me, with generic answers like, try this on this list which consists on turn off add-ons, reset ui, repair game, bla bla bla bla…
So this 2 GM’s must not be in contact with the one that replied to you, or they just don’t care, and at this point, either one is bad, so it is what it is…
1 month later and still not resolved. The amount of keys I’ve seen depleted due to this now…
