Former Lordaeron citizens who actually helped and protected the farmers and civilians they came across, and started doing morally grey stuff once they were secretly taken over by a Dreadlord.
So it’s the same but just not at the same scale.
Following your logic, the Scouring of Lordaeron and that one quest where we kill 6 mobs and poison 3 of their food crates are the same, just on different scale.
They had the same intent, of removing a specific organization/race.
There it’s better now.
In the Purge of Dalaran’s case, it was a specific organization. In Sylvanas’ case, it wasn’t just to remove a specific race, but literally break their hope and snuff out hope for the generations to come.
We cant have MoP 2… The Dark Lady is too valuable to share the same fate as Garrosh. And a bit of inconvenience. We should have faith in what the game devs have in store for us!
Ugh That was painful!
Your Blood Elf is showing.
There there take a deep breath you did well.
Some would say that Garrosh was too valuable to get the fate he got.
I can’t see them giving us anything else, I can’t see the story go anywhere else.
Especially since 8.2s story follows 5.2s story to a t.
Only thing I can see being different is not putting Sylvanas in a raid but dethroning her in a scenario of some sorts, since giving us SoO 2.0 would just confirm this to be MoP 2.0.
Thank you senpai
But he was never Sylvanas : )
Not even worth thinking about it at this point …
or or you could simply blame Sylvanas’ stupidity for starting this war after we just took out the legion.
I rather blame blizzard who looks for an excuse to give Anduin a SoO Varian moment for parallels.
you should blame blizzard stupidity if they want to their could make sylvanas alive anduin head explode or saurfang shapeshift in to a butterfly. stop blaming a fictional character for this
HORDE BIAS!
Wasn’t there a war started already? With Graymane attacking her fleet in Stormheim and Anduin’s little dream of fixing undead went poof the moment Calia decided to have an identity crisis during the undead-human group hug (proverbial hug since according to Golden undead can fall apart from hugs).
There’s about 1039283289 threads discussing it in the older pages, at least the ones that still survive after the month’s closing of threads.
Agreed! Until Gilneas is occupied by corpses, there will be no Peace!
It was a Uther’s fault and not forget Genn is Stormheim. Blame the alliance!
In this we are very handosmely agreeing.
An even uglier model. What is blizzards difficulty with male models ?!
I haven’t even touched on Tyrande , Malfurion and Farondis’ absence in Naz’jatar or the reduced role of the night elves on the alliance side there… well, not in this topic yet.
Chances are Sylvanas would realize she is being played, all along, manipulated by smarter more intelligent and malevolent beings that used her fears against her.
She would then do something very intelligent and heroic, like possibly trap Azshara or N’zoth in Xal’atath saving us all. She would lose the warchief position for her actions especially the war, but everyone would realise the whole war of thorns and horde war was because of manipulation of Azshara and/or N’zoth, but despite the great harm Sylvanas did, she is also the reason the world survives far greater calamity.
Made more poignant if she ends up also being the reason Tyrande and the night elf people survive Azshara (or Tyrnade gets to finish of Azshara or beat her in a future encounter, blizzard woudl have to play this right, cos people would hate Tyrande agian having to be rescued like a damsel in distress, so it would have to be somehting Sylvanas does that gives Tyrande the edge over Azshara or allows Tyrande to be able to turn the tide and together they finish the Queen) and also the reason night elves possibly get somethign amazing like Zin’azshari and/or naga elf sub-race joining them in addition to their kalimdor lands and the borken isles including some working relationship with the nightborne despite being in opposite facitons. [this would be part of Sylvanas making amends]
Sylvanas will then now be a free agent. Calia would lead the forsaken, Thrall the horde and Sylvanas would be a major character roaming the world rediscovering her original self, and be a hero working to do the best she can as she becomes her old self in the curse of undeath. Maybe in that there would be role for Delaryn and Sira tood, and we have a cadre of elven hunter undead babes meting out justice in the world
She might get a new model too to reflect this.
A huge part of the plot and story problems lies in Blizzards attempt to exploit on period horde identify crisis. Dickmann law put it in smooth enough words to describe.
"The factions at this stage are too large a tent to give any real identity outside of blocs within them. The Horde has the advantage of being an autocracy where the Warchief as an absolute dictator can set the warlike drive and you get a ton of racial interaction out of the component races as they form blocs and deal with the circumstances, like the original Kalimdor Horde/EK Horde divide. Cataclysm had a lot of this, especially as far as the Forsaken and orcs were concerned, with both positive interactions - Cromush and the sailors and negative interactions - Drek’thar rebuking the Forsaken and calling them out in the best way anyone has up to this point. It’s this lack of homogeneity that makes the Horde worthwhile, since all the parties involved ‘feel’ Horde in some sense of the word, but have radically different mindsets and priorities.
The Alliance shows what the alternative is. A whole bunch of interesting races who once had a lot going for them, reduced to human satellites."
And I agree with Dickman here, I have been advocating for a while bench the whole super power focus of the horde and alliance, and instead switch to focusing on the races - something like what they did for classes in Legion, but better, more robust and a more detailed play.
But I hope he realises that the alliance fans are not happy either with their races being reduced to human satellites, it’s boring, un-interesting and basically hdies/ignores a lot of interesting features and depth the individual races have.
That HUGE night elf lore is largely un-utilised generating the frustration fans like myself feel, becuase there is so much good stuff in there to carry on telling, yet, so little of it shows up. And it’s absolutely a bad idea to ditch or bin most of it either, becuase it was the stuff many of us liked, and made them feel unique and different.
So they have to find a way to allow the races to shine and show their individual great qualities and tell more of their lore. Which is why i feel dialling down on the whole horde empire/alliance empire and drive the groups forward more as races, at least for hte time being. Many of them are big enough and have lore enough to be kingdoms and empires of their own. You coudl easily have the night elf civlization, the Troll empire, The Orc empire, The Human federation, Thalassian kingdom - and while some of these races gather together to form the playerbase horde and allinace, they are big enough to be their own empires.
As you can tell i have big imagination
