Patch 9.0.5 PTR is Now Available

No but seriously, we’ve just been buffed and we’re still bottom tier.

Something will always be bottom tier :cow:

Mean while they sit there picking and choosing the BiS for them from a big long list of options.

Exactly lmao they pick what item they want to pick when they want to pick it but apparently getting a random piece in a gigantic loot table every 2-3-4 dungeons is free loot

this patch might not work the way people might think XD

Ok, but it doesn’t have to be 20% off compared to the best specs.

nice, now i can upgrade the 2 full bags of gear from dungeons i have

This depends greatly on the cost and how reasonable it ends up being to upgrade from m0 level, since that’s the only difficulty where you can reasonably grind for anything.

This is basically the PvP system now used for M+, only worse since they can initially choose and buy instead of waiting for a drop to further upgrade. So it’s not a fix for PvE in general including poor raid drops and not nearly as good as the old Valor system, but it’s definitely better than nothing.

Have been asking myself that for about 5 years now since they adopted that policy. It’s along the lines of “never give them what they ask for, but give them enough to keep them playing”.

The more I’m thinking about this the more it looks just another grind on top instead of a direct solution to the problem.

So any Person PvP/PvE will earn Valor from Callings, but they need to do Mythics to unlock item levels. Mythic Keystone sellers will rejoice with these news.

I would not have thought that the PvE Community is so homogeneous that you can assume that PvEers love doing Mythic+. I think it will funnel people into Mythic+, that are unhappy - like Soul Ash funnels people into Thorghast, that feel compelled to do it, but really do not enjoy it.

I would have loved to see various different ways to unlock the item level cpas. E.g.

  1. Mythic +5/ Nath Normal / Proving Grounds Gold / Endless Corridors 1 Solo
  2. Mythic +10 / Nath Heroic / PRoving Grounds Endles 5 / Endles Corridors 4 Solo
  3. Mythic +15 / Nath Mythic / Proving Grounds Endless 50 / Endless Corridors 8 Solo

This gives Raiders, Mythic+ Lovers, Solo Players all access to different item levels with different choices to unlock them.

I Wish we could buy specific gears with that currency I’m just tired of farming for my BIS trinket from dos , I’m doing that from launch but it seems not gonna happen

Kinda untrue.

If valors weekly capped it’s a strong chance that we can only upgrade 1 item a week we can upgrade to. Now if we have to level them them through all 4 stages.

It means moving a item from 194 to 220 would take 4 weeks

220 loot still ain’t scratching 233 weapons. And still behind the mythic raid drop. This speeds up effectively progression and that’s it.

So unless Valor quite litterally falls out the sky in large quantities. This isn’t rly becoming a loot pinata

Also let’s ofcourse throw on the top.

How many people will actually get +15s or even +10s done across the board.

Maybe 2/3% of the game? It’s still only gonna help a very small minority. And I ain’t saying it should change because of that. But it’s kinda true.

You can’t call a system a loot pinata when it’s gating it with +15 achievement  if it was complete 1 +15 I’d agree. But it wants all of em

This would undermine their stance that Mythic raiding and those at 2400 rating awards the best farmable gear in the game though, which they’ve been firm advocaters of since the start of shadowlands Dev. Also don’t forget many many classes have no desire for versatility gear in PvE content.

Thinking back to Valor in MoP. Each item could be upgraded 4 times, and the weekly cap was enough to upgrade 1 of those piece fully, per week. I imagine they’d be foolish not to take the pros from that system and bring them to SL

I thought it was only twice back then?

Either way we will have to wait and see how it works out, this doesn’t really fix the issues for the large majority who have issues with loot.

As this still expects them to do every dungeon on +15 to unlock. But I with the gradual upgrades maybe it will be enough to get people climbing

Either way it’s better then nothing.

We shall wait and see. I rerolled quite late, so maybe it’s just the fact I’m so far behind rather then the system haha. I got a while before this hits anyway

I think you are making a big mistake, Blizzard.

First of all, as harsh as it may sound, RIO score = this game (what comes for PVE). With lower score you have no place in pug groups but instead you will be constantly declined. When this keeps going on, for hours, maybe for days, that eats motivation from anyone that just tries his/her best to enjoy the game and do as well as possible.

Now, you are about to put requirement of M+ key levels to upgrade a gear. System you are thinking now will be unfair for so, so many players out there. Getting into +15 dungeons is already very hard and demanding completing all +15 dungeons on time is completely wrong decision.

Have you realized that if you release this, you will open one more way for gold boosters to market their services by selling achievements and 220 gear runs. LFG will be spammed by those. Basically good bye 220 gear for any of those not willing to buy a service, or not having a trusted group of people you can keep running Mythic+ with. This is huge hit for us whom mostly pug dungeons.

Players will prob be leaving more as well if they see timer is not going to be met as not-timed will become worthless on eyes of many players.

Reconsider. Once again, RIO determines this whole game.

I agree with this actually, didnt even think of RIO in this case, this will be even more of a mess than in BFA

Man, you’re obviously a pleb. 220 is still lower than the gear people get from mythic, pvp and weekly vault. The only problem with rio is people not upgrading all their keys by one level at a time or trying to get it late in a season. Most issues are fixed by simply using your own key and not complaining about not getting in to other people’s keys. Letting people who ENJOY m+ get gear actually doing that simply makes it more enjoyable for people doing that type of content. That max amount of gear still doesn’t change and is determened by other types of content and the weekly vault where you true bis comes anyway. You already required to do a 15 key to get 210 gear. This simply makes gear MORE accessable. If you’re just not doing any content you don’t get gear regardless and shouldn’t be here complaining about a great addition. The only thing you’re right about is toxicity around RIO score.
