Patch-by-patch progression for TBC

Is it possible to implement patch-by-patch progression for TBC? Seeing as Blizz chose to go with patch 1.12 for Classic, do you think they’ll decide to make a patch 2.4 version of TBC Classic?

why would they make tbc? tbc is just a bad version of bfa :joy: and if they make it of course they wouldn’t bother with having spells or talent trees be progressive.

I would expect certain things to be progressive, others wouldn’t.

For example,

Progressive stuff:

  • Attunements would still be required as per pre-2.4
  • Kael’thas and Vashj would be blocked until you beat all bosses, unlike in 2.4
  • Badge of Justice items would be timegated according to the patch they came out in (no ZA items in 2.0, for example)

Things I’d expect not to be progressive:

  • Talent trees
  • Quest hubs, such as Mudsprocket
  • Stonard/Theramore portal/teleport spells for mages

Things I’m not sure about

  • Pre 2.4.1 nerf M’uru (things like Dark Energy interrupting spellcasting could be seen as a bug fix, but what about the HP nerf?)
  • Eredar Twins loot (will they keep the distinction based on who you kill last or just make it as it is in 2.4.3?)

This ofc isn’t an exhaustive list, but an example of my predictions and questions^^

Either way, I think a true patch progression is unlikely. Not much because Blizz doesn’t have the data (they prolly have), but because many of the changes that happened across patches could be seen as bug fixes (such as Maiden of Virtue’s Holy Fire no longer targetting players under Repentance).
