I mean I get it. It’s a minigame and does nothing in terms of powergain and is solely there for us players to have something to do or some minor goal to strive towards(Achievements etc).
But… Is it too much to ask to make the challenges exactly that? But no instead they’re unfairly broken and/or overtuned. Difficulty in PoA boils down to “lets just increase enemy health and damage”. That’s not challenging. Dodging mechanics and using the items you have to do so. That’s challenging and fair.
I doubt blizzard or any of it’s devs will fix it cause I mean. Look at legion, Mythic there is still nigh impossible to solo. If they can’t fix 2 “expansions old” content. There’s high doubt they would fix something current that’s not even part of the endgame.

Yeah, I called BS on that feature back in January I think. The only reason I’ve invested in it was to get more anima from everything else; can’t see a reason to go beyond rank 3.
Although I do know a couple of people who enjoyed it. I guess if you’re into that sort of thing, it’s probably ok… but to me it just felt like a clunky vehicle battle with too many controls, no explanation, and limited entries. The whole limited entries thing is so pointless. Why add yet another bloody currency to grind? Just let me practise it as much as I want, don’t add punishment to failure by saying I can’t try again yet.

I’m really not looking forward to doing that one.

I can’t recommend even trying. The transmog from it is pretty uninspiring, imho.
Upgraded mine to tier 3, dunno why I should bother with 4; haven’t actually beaten the tier 1 fight yet. Probably never going back in there.

I’ve tried and failed. I’ll go back to it one day … it would be fine if it was me fighting the mobs as I know how to play my character … but it’s being someone else, having clunky buttons that you have to remember and extra stuff to make/buy for individual fights. I really want the mounts but don’t have the time or energy to learn yet another set of ‘rules’ and ‘items’ and …

Outside of the enemy challenge/Memory using an unfair mechanic that has no solid counterplay, I actually enjoy the Path. But if you want to clear and/or go beyond tier 3 difficulty, well over 20K anima has to be invested.
12.500 anima + souls for rank 4, and rank 5 is a whopping 15K + souls rescued.
And that’s just to unlock the extra layers of difficulty.
So, to give an example. If you want to say, unlock the forsworn wing transmog(same as the regular golden one but darker color), you will need the following:
Over 25K anima.
Over 50 souls rescued from the maw.
Time (In order to finish the actual research. Rank 4 took 24 hours to complete. Ergo making the whole thing timegated)
Enough Service medallions to retry due to: Players making mistakes or the boss straight up having overtuned mechanics which can’t be countered properly without cheese strats.
The four Shadowland materials for crafting:
[Elysian Feathers]
[Champion’s Pelt]
[Nightforged Stee]
[Calloused Bone]
In order to craft the new equipment that is a MUST have to complete certain challenges like the very first one(which you need the boots of speed to break the chain)
And that’s just the entry requirements. The final one is a lot of time invested in beating the humility challenges without braziers or charms active. All of the memory challenges. All of the above just to unlock darker wings.
Yeah, I never understood why there was a forced entry-currency. I mean it’s easy enough to farm and get(I have over 200 tokens myself) but it’s still stupid considering, again how unfair the challenges are. I mean the first one can’t even be beaten without herald’s footwear(I call them boots of speed
) from what I know.

Didnt even know that stuff existed. The blessing of not needing to go kyrian and ignoring the fae in their entirety.
Probably some half butted attempt to not having to update the Brawlers guild
Done with all the achievements for PoA, except “Disciple of Humility”, currently at 22/30, last remaining fights require lot of preparation, cheese and or luck. Some of the fights are very challenging, it can be both fun and very frustrating. Got around 700 medallions from missions and callings, so no real problem to try many more times.

This was it for me. I got given 4-5 buttons and had no way to arrange them to anything like my character skills, then thrown into the fight and I’ve got to remember them while being shot at.
Why not use island AI and do like an arena fight where our companion is our partner? Have a few moments where they call for a specific assist, and the general goal is keep on top of the combat while also managing the things they ask for? Or give us a pet bar with some of their skills on it so we can order a coordinated move?

I’ve always hated limited goes on such things. Many people (myself especially) need more practise than most to do these types of things.
I got as far as unlocking it and getting oneshot, as if that’s a fun introduction. Not touched it since.

And this is exactly why it’s unfair and not challenging in the way it’s supposed to be. Which is why I am bringing attention to it, and all the better the more Kyrian covenant players bring attention to the problem

Oh, I’d forgotten that. I didn’t go back for about 3 months after that and then tried the first ‘proper’ boss and it was almost as bad. Not tried since.

You are actually supposed to lose the first fight, there is no way you can win it, after you lose and then you upgrade stuff and do it.
to be fair, thats pretty much blizzards idea of making things “harder/challenging”. its usually just a damage/healing check, never an actual skill check. if they want to make things harder they just increase the damage mobs deal, thats it. no skill involved. its so disappointing.

I’ve finished Path of Ascension at the max difficulty level but do not have all the achievements related to the feature.
It’s very obvious that this feature was not properly QA’d at the Humility level. Either they upped the mob damage, upped the mob HP, lowered the hero damage or lowered the hero HP before throwing this out live, or just left it in the hands of a scaling % formula and called it a day.
I say this because as of 23rd July we are eight months into the expansion, and the WoWhead guide for the mode sits unfinished. If you go on to Youtube, the majority of the clears shown there are having to use some sort of exploit or glitch - people are attacking the target dummies with Kleia and jumping in to start the fight already in combat so she can pop her damage cooldown. Or attacking a target turnip you put down in a previous attempt (same with Bron and his haste buff). Or jumping on the vases/braziers around the arena with Pelagos and just auto-attacking enemies to death, or resetting the red slime on Mad Mortimer by making a mini slime spawn in the pillar and bugging out.
This is very obviously not how the fights are supposed to be cleared, because these are strategies that are cheesing the enrage timer that comes on humility level.
I finished it, and I got my title and the transmog set, but it was an extremely hollow victory that left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn’t earn it, but how could I when the systems themselves are extremely busted and unreasonable, because they do not feel they were tested properly by a human being.

Just w8 untill renown lvl 80, ur guys gets stronger with renown.
Allegedly, according to the wowhead people: Renown plays no role in the “stats” of the soulbinds such as HP and/or damage. Afaipk: i have no basis on that theory and will test it out much more extensively once I reach R-80
If they not get stronger it’s a bug, u can even ask the guys at the place they saying if u have a hard time come back when u higher renown.
