Pretty sure PoE 1 had meta builds, once all the math had been math’d certain builds dominated. A reliable source (my friend) told me they spent the last few patches reworking builds and classes too, so… a lot of bluster.
Edit: Maybe it will kill off Warcraft Rumble, maybe OP meant that.
In term of satisfaction and enjoyment is way ahead of Diablo.
Even Grim Dawn is superior in Every aspect from Diablo 3/4 and is getting another expansion .
As for World of warcraft has become a woke game focused on transmo , fast and time-gated content that make the people burned in 1/2 month . ( lets not talk about the lore that DEI decimated every character )
There is no more exploration or the most successful ingredient in Rpg/Mmmorpg that is the character growth .
A cheap copy of Diablo series that every 6 months you make a restart …
Hmm allot here I have no clue about too be honest. And I am a little confused with your reply. I follow the part where you say it has more enjoyment and satisfaction than diablo.
But then you loose me. You think there is more exploration and that wow has become a fast time gated game?
While I do admit that I miss the masculine leads (Anduin is enjoyable but doesn’t quite fit the type) I have nothing against strong female leads either, just wish there’d be more of a balance.
I expect Path of Exile II to dominate the ARPG market.
It looks leagues better than the competition and GGG looks like Blizzard of old - super passionate and highly experienced developers.
Diablo IV will find a niche in the casual console market, but that’s a poor consolidation prize for the company that literally invented the genre.
For WoW it’ll be another cut in the already lengthy process of death by a thousand cuts.
There is no WoW killer per se, but every time a major game comes out, a few WoW players will take their leave. And WoW doesn’t replace the players it loses.
Speaking of PoE, it doesn’t really have classes per se beyond a starting area in the grid, so there isn’t really much of “balancing” of classes… Similar to Dark Souls / Elden Ring where you just venture into what you want to use by your allocation of points [eg start out as a spell caster, end up being a STR 2h build].
Literally no similarities between the two games, they’re completely different genres.
tbh my dear panda, most of people here hate the game but play it anyway until something new comes out, but then crawling back to the wow forums to cry some more.
Path of Exile is Diablo for people who have even more free time to invest, it’s never going to change gaming or replace other games. Blizzard games are accessible and can be played on a more reasonable schedule, they are easy to learn and difficult to master while POE is hard/time consuming to learn and hard to master.
You have to be young and naive to think otherwise, which is fine, but know you’re being naive. And don’t misunderstand me, because I’m sure people will, I think POE2 is going to be a great game, and good for gaming, but measure your expectations a bit.
Oh goody, after “Age of Conan”, SW:TOR, “Wildstar”, “Final fantasy XIV”, “Elder scrolls online”, and a whole laundry-list of other supposed “WoW-killers” that i can’t even remember anymore, this will finally be the one, honest!
Anyway, have fun with POE2, we’ll be here when you get back.
