I think the classic spirit is something unique and wonderful. Putting tons of hours and effort into your main character is engaging and fun and you actually continue enjoying the game when you are finally done with all your stuff.
I understand that people don’t want faction change in Classic WoW, because of the Alliance vs Horde mindset, the same reason you are not allowed to have Horde and Alliance characters on the same server.
Character appearance change and race change are definitely something that would be really nice to have access to, in my opinion. I, personally, feel like I made the wrong decision when creating my character. All my friends play gnomes and I would like to play a gnome, too, but I decided to create a Female Human Warrior and when I figured it out, I already invested too much effort to delete it and start over.
Still, I wish I could change my character to a Gnome and I heard of many other people being unhappy with their choice, too, but figuring it out too late.
Blizzard brought classic back for us and promised, to leave ingame content unchanged. Being able to customize your character and re-think decisions you’ve made, even before you even started your adventure, would not hurt anyone and would have absolutely no impact on ingame content.
It would be a pleasure for us and a fair opportunity for Blizzard to generate some extra income from a game, they brought back to make us happy.

Nothing says you have to delete the character. Make an alt. Then you can still be a gnome with your friends.
The thing with paid services is that it’s a slippery road… I think paid server transfers is the only one I would support pesonally, as if I remember correctly, that was avaliable back in the day too…

You’re correct - It was available back then. (all though via a webpage, and not an ingame-tool, but it would be silly to not take advantage of it just for the sake of NOT using it)

Comparing addons is irrelevant. #nochanges is not about having a perfect UI recreation. It’s about the attitude Blizzard must take to providing this game. Addon developers have 0 input to the design of the game.
We need to keep telling Blizzard to make #nochanges otherwise we will start getting changes that we do not want.

I still have a back of my vanilla addon folder, I haven’t counted it but ~50 doesn’t sound far off

Most people say #nochanges and don’t understand what it even means. I made a post asking for something to be put in that was in vanilla that had been forgotten about and someone piped up saying no changes! Lol!
Inb4 everyone raiding, gearing up and farming reputations as humans, then race changing to gnomes for pvp ranking.

90% of tbe time it’s the same 3-4 things being asked by few post trolls that get the same nochanges troll responses in return. And both sides don’t get tired.
