To be fair, given how hard the Scarlet Crusade got slammed with the retcon hammer beginning with WotLK, I would more or less consider him a remnant of Vanilla lore - same with the other Scarlet Emissaries out in the world.

It’s annoying that Blizzard keeps whipcracking between ‘and then we killed all of the Scarlets by scouring the monastery from top to bottom’ and ‘there is a large army of Scarlets that has emerged and is still a threat’ but that is the story they’ve written and it’s badrp to say someone can’t RP a character based on that.

Yeah, he was. Crowley is kept around entirely because of a feat of strength. But the Scarlet Crusade’s founding was retconned so hard that it becomes a bit difficult to explain them recruiting in lands so far away as Kalimdor, amongst night elves.

Even the non-human statues in the Scarlet Monastery are difficult to explain outside of “the Scarlet Monastery was revamped in Cata, but that chamber was unchanged, so the statues are still there but the characters they depict are not so canon anymore”.
