The Horde faced many issues when it came to resources after the Fourth War, and with Kodo Caravans disappearing and Horde scouts not returning when going on trips across the Barrens to enter Ashenvale, the Horde turned to their imperial allies in a call for aid to investigate this disturbance.
And so the Seventh Rastari set out through the Northen Barrens in search of a missing Kodo Caravan and the guards meant to protect it. In their search, the Empireās chosen found a few dropped supplies, and even a couple of Orcish guards who claimed to have been ambushed by Centaur. The conversation was caught short when one of the Orcs was soon snatched away by a duo of twisted elementals that had erupted from the earth. Following on the elementalsā trail, the Rastari warriors found a group dark shaman Centaur who had forced the elements under their command. After dispatching of both the elementals and the shaman, the trolls found only a few supplies and the Orc the elementals had stolen, the remainder of the Caravan needing to be found another time.
And when that time came. the Seventh Rastari Cohort set out to the Northern Barrens once more. Finding, further Centaur, more Orcish prisoners and the remainder of the Kodo Caravan supplies. But a more troubling threat soon arose as the Rastari soldiers found further twisting of the elements being performed by the Centaur as they summoned forth a great Magma elemental, forced under their command by decay, with its summon presumably having been performed with the sacrifice of the other Orcs the Centaur had captured. The soldiers of Zandalar brought down the elemental and its slavers, and while they did manage to stop the Centaurās efforts for now, they still fail in returning every member of the Caravan and every piece of stolen supplies.
āA new storm had risen briefly over the Isle of Thunder, but after only a few days it was silenced.ā
The Seventh Rastari Cohort were tasked with investigating new activity over the Isle of Thunder. With the great vessel the Loaās Reprisal, they landed upon the shores, only to find their mighty ship under siege by ballista soon after, a large hole in the upper-deck of the vessel appearing. Rushing across the land, the Rastari found themselves cutting through Mogu and traitorous Zandalari, eventually stopping the ballistas from raining further fire upon the Zandalari vessel. Still, the damage was done, and the Cohortās ship would need to be repaired before it could sail through the Great Sea again.
Upon the next day the Seventh Rastari split into two groups, one out for collecting resources and the other for scouting the eastern half of the island. The resource team found themselves in a miscommunication with the Shado-Pan after having been ambushed, eventually deciding they both had a common foe on the isle and being handed a few spare resources by the Pandaren watchers. The scouting team found a few traces of fallen Stormtouched Zandalari, having been risen into ālifeā again by an unknown magic. Eventually, however, the two groups reunited near the Thunder Kingās palace, where they soon worked together against tiki masks and Mogu spirits to steal a certain trinket from the palaceās halls.
With the third day on the isle upon them, and repairs to the Loaās reprisal nearly finished, the Seventh Rastari Cohort embarked towards the centre of the island, to where the activity had been the greatest: Diremoor. Along the way they encountered an escort crew of imperial traitors carrying a Shanāze ritual stone, eventually disguising themselves as the escort crew and arriving face to face with a Stormtouched War-God and Mogu Stormbinder. The conflict was long, but when the two commanders of the storm fell, the Rastari were able to use the ritual stone upon a nearby spireā¦Silencing the current storm across the isle, and signalling that their duty was complete.
Weāve finished a small plot on the Isle of Thunder that was organized by Talanjite Dinokil. And have now left the horrid isle and returned for a couple days to Dazarāalor.
Volunteer Guard day had been celebrated across Azeroth for many years, and with the Hordeās alliance to the Zandalari Empire, the tradition had gradually seeped into Zandalari culture. With an effort to understand this piece of Horde tradition, the Priest-caste declared that the Seventh Rastari Cohort were to accept āvolunteersā for the day and show them how things were in life of a Rastari Enforcer.
The Rastari and their volunteers gathered up around the Royal Armoury, a Tortollan named Sherka, a Sethrak named Raāsess and surprisingly a troll named Cooāba. Together these three volunteers were pitted against some of the Seventh Rastariās own soldiers to test their skills, before being set out to join the Cohort on a routine patrol.
Across the patrol the group were forced to defuse a raging brawl between two speakers of rival tribes within the Terrace of Speakers, a Bloodscalp and Skullsplitter, and once within the Port of Zandalar found themselves under robbery by a group of Saurid scavengers. With chase they followed the Saurid, and were lured into the verminās nearby nest, thus forced to put down the vile critters. Once the Saurid were taken care of, the patrol soon came to a close as the Rastari discovered a cave full of stolen goods that the Saurid had stockpiled for an unknown amount of time.
Upon their return back to the Royal Armoury, duty finished, the Seventh Rastari went to rest for the day, their volunteers perhaps having learnt now what it was like to be a Rastari briefly.
In an attempt to make greater bonds with the mostly neutral Tortollan Seekers, the Seventh Rastari Cohort were sent to aid a specific group within the Seekers on a relic recovery mission upon a small and tropical island within the Great Sea, to find a relic of cleansing called āThe Grasp of Darānataā. Once they reached the isle, however, they found not Tortollans to greet them, but instead a ruined outpost and fallen researchers. After a brief investigation at the camp, the Rastari soon found the Tortollan corpses standing up again, being puppeteered by plants. Once they burn the foul flora, the trolls found a scroll within the camp, speaking of a second Tortollan outpost on the Isle, and so the Rastari departed to find it.
However, the second camp was simply deserted, one of the Rastariās few clues being the growing power of the spirits and nature upon the southern half of the isle. With that one lead the Empireās chosen departed southward the next day, coming under the projectile ambush of animated plants, and then having to disguise plants themselves to get past a set of tree sentries. But with that done, the trolls found themselves at the source of the spiritual magic and what had been animating the plants: A great tree, overgrown and trying to convert the Seventh Cohort into plant-life.
Once the great tree fell, so too did the overwhelming magic upon the isle, the plants starting to wither and wilt, a single branch being left: The Grasp of Darānata. The branch gave visions of the Loa to whoever held it, but the Rastari had to continue their search through the withering jungle, eventually uncovering the missing Tortollans, and handing the great relic back to them.
With the recent decree of our War-God Satrap no Whrugi IV, Flamespeaker Jahaāes has been withdrawn from her position as Tetrarch. In her place the Shadow Hunter Dinokil now leads the Cohort with the assistance of the Talanjites Beniāya and assigned Zanchuli Ambassador Hyro-Tlalli no Zuma XIII.
But despite these changes, the Cohort continues to strive for our Golden Empire and assist our allies in the Horde in times of need.
We will be moving out this Friday to Kul Tiras in a Mini Campaign, organised by Meloh of the Aparoshe Stampede. Big thanks!
Vengeance for Rastakhan!
We are back after the glorious Campaign finale in Kul Tiras, in which our allies of the Horde and we fought against the Alliance and Coppersail Corsairs. In the end we were pushed off the isles though our Cohort managed to gain valuable intel on our nemesisā Homeland.
Today we shall attend the invitation to a party, hosted by our elven (?) friends of the Highblood Myrmidons to celebrate our allegiance (and the occasional warcrime we committed) and come tomorrow we will back in Dazarāalor!
This week we spent the majority of our time in Kalimdor, investigating the harrowing visions of a Shadowprey Witch Doctor. Past chaotic and playful spirits we found a mutated gem infused with Arcane Energy it had presumably drawn from a nearby leyline. Taking inspiration from an ancient Loa surrounded by legends, this crystal was dubbed the Scale of Ksuāla. Yet just after it had been acquired, a devilish imp chose to make an enemy of the Cohort and stole it from our bare hands with the mission to carry it into Felwood to its dark master.
Chasing it to northern Kalimdor we entered the lands of the Kaldorei who were set to make us pay for this mistake. The Painted Shields clashed with the elves and worgen of the Dirge of Teldrassil on two days in a row, fighting bitterly to the last mon standing. Our struggle ended in Felwood after eliminating the thief and retrieving the Scale of Ksuāla. We carried our wounded bodies through a portal, glancing back at the valiant defenders of the woods who had paid for our injuries with scars of their own. This battle between us was not yet won, nor was it lost. The scores will be settled. Diāchukaā¦
A thousand thanks to the kings and queens of the Dirge of Teldrassil who certainly set the highlights of our week with a few well-fought battles! We cannot wait to clash with these guys again.
We have concluded our week with a few well earned promotions and are now back in Dazarāalor for anyone to seek us out.
Today marks the second day of the āCycle of Hatredā campaign, Alliance aggression in Horde territory cannot go unanswered! The elite Seventh Rastari Cohort have heeded the call to arms of their allies and deployed to Stonetalon! Ever eager to battle against the Pink-skin invaders, the sons & daughters of Zandalar take up their gilded arms to spill the blood of the Bluecoats in a tide of vengeance! Di chuka Zandalar! Empire eternal!
hey borthers-mon
i wuold love to join you, may i have some information? https://check-pvp.fr/eu/Nemesis/Zulmalis , this is my glorius Shaman, spear of rastakhan and servant of the loa.
Tazāokun mons and monsinesses!
As of a few days now, the Painted Shields are permanently stationed in Orgrimmar to better support our allies of the Horde in their endeavours. Just in time to receive our awesome medals and, in some special cases, titles for our contribution in our most recent Stonetalon Mountains Warfront Campaign!
New bloods who are interested in joining: donāt fret! We will still visit our golden City often enough for matters of utmost imperial importance. But for our down times, expect to meet plenty of mighty heroes from other races and subsequently guilds.
As weāre currently establishing our foot print in Orgrimmar and itās surrounding areas, you can find us there, doing training, the erection of loa specific shrines, and more!
I canāt think of a better guild for any would-be Zandalari RPer or those looking to RP one of the other tribes under their wing. Great bunch of RPers that Iāve thoroughly enjoyed encountering again and again. Best trolls.
Of late, the Painted Shields have taken important steps to bolster their ranks. Recruiting those still loyal to the blessed golden Empire & its subjects, tending to matters that are paramount to the safety of Zandalar and their allies.
Things are heating up in the gilded city as tensions between the separatist Zulians and the Empire, Zanchuli officials have began plotting & scheming behind closed doors to ensure that the Zandalari Empire will endure.
