So i was on my level 54 druid tank, queing for dungeons… got into BRD and pulled like 2 groups of mobs, when suddenly i saw people losing health quick. apparently 2 DPS were pulling aswell, resulting in the mobs running towards the healers cuz of aggro…
While that happened, i got chain stunned and could not get the mobs off of the healer and the DPS. in all the chaos that was going on, they were blaming me in the chat for not tanking… and before i knew it, i got kicked out of the group and somehow received a 30 min debuff (thought this was only possible if i left myself).
This is not the first time i encountered toxic people pulling left and right. i, as a tank have to be sure the healer has enough mana, and is in range of me and the rest of the party. But with this kind of behaviour, it’s just impossible.
Not all groups are bad. i ran into really kind people and grouped up with them to queue more dungeons with. But this is not always an option.
Why the hell are people acting like this, i just don’t get it. Just let the tank pull, and everything will go smooth and fast, which makes everyone happy.
Just had to write this off of me, cuz i’m really frustrated atm.
Cata made dungeons the most efficient way to level and it’s attracting a certain kind of speed leveler monitoring their xp per hour and becoming impatient and frustrated when others don’t have the same “gogogo” mentality as them.
Very true, i did notice this. i must say that i am not a slow tank, and tend to go as fast as the healer let’s me. But i want to make it a fun run for the healer as well.
i hate this speed leveling mentality. and these people have to realize that if they let me do my thing, and pull accordingly, the run goes a lot faster
I’ve been leveling (trying to) multiple healers / tanks come Cata but it’s unbearable. DPS pulling, not pressing 1 kick, soak all the mechanics, and still do 0 DPS.
Classic is done, turning into retail once more. Take off your rose colored glasses and free yourself from this garbage. Or stay delusional and addicted, your choice.
I disagree. DPS often pulls for no reason and the healer has to be able to keep up as well.
A little bit of patience does wonders (and this is about seconds).
Yes, maybe tank can be slow. But problem is that when dps players pull lots of mobs, they in 9 out of 10 situations go to healer cause he has more aggro, and that results in a healers death - therefore wipe. For me it’s never a problem, I’m experienced healer, but imagine random person that wants to try healing for first/second time
When I leveled healer not so long ago I made a rule - if a dps player pulls mobs and still takes lots of damage, I don’t heal them. When player asks: “wtf healer, why no heal?” I usually ask: “What happened? How did you manage to take that damage?” Sure they don’t want to answer “weeeell, I pulled lots of mobs and then died”, so often it’s a rhetorical question and it works. And if it doesn’t - well, it will work sometime.
The last Rogue that tried to gank me got shield slamed to death in 1 second lol.
In Cata they tried to rupture me after sinister and always get oneshotted by execute
Then they ragewhisper while I ninjarush in dungeon after que.
After dealing with rage in instance and whisper chat I repeat.
People turned into solo players. People like Berny or Lilith who proudly advertise in the forums that they do not care for anything else but their own gain. Dungeon finder made that a lot easierbut it’s not the only factor.
If it is possible, try to sorround yourself with a friendly and helpful guild with people who play for fun not for minmaxing. Creating your own little bubble inside the game is the only way to keep the game enjoyable. If that is not possible because egoists are the majority, then it would be time to quit I guess.
