Old trend: complaining about loot dropping in abundance and people whom spam M+ gearing up too fast ( you don’t have time to spam M+ due to adult life commitments, so others shouldn’t be able to gear up fast either ) > Blizzard nerfs loot drops and removes titanforging, boomers rejoice.
New trend: Start complaining about how the game doesn’t feel rewarding anymore, is too time consuming because of RNG (also adult life commitments prevent you from playing a lot) > make fun of people (toxic caricatures btw) that DO play a lot and invest time into their characters so they can compete in mythic endgame
There’s a few problems here;
Entitlement; RNG has always been part of loot and you are not entitled to be showered in items just cause you run 4 mythic dungeons in a week. Think of it this way; if you get an item now you are extra happy (atleast I am)
Wrong expectations; YOU got older. You are no longer a college student like you were in MoP, Cata, Wotlk (whichever expansion you played most) so naturally you have less time. You now have a family, a job, responsibilities. You won’t be able to compete in mythic content anymore which is fine. Let the new guys on the block enjoy their time at the top.
Accept that you can’t compete with players that invest multiple hours per day into their characters. Join a casual guild and align your priorities with them (clear HC before the next major content patch, whatever. Do a few keys here and there.)
YOU DON’T HAVE TO CLEAR THE TOP FLOORS OF TORGHAST, PUMP +10 KEYS AND RUSH EXALTED WITH VE’NARI IF YOU ARE NOT AIMING TO CLEAR MYTHIC CONTENT IN THE FIRST WEEKS! BASE ILEVEL 184 IS FINE FOR NORMAL CASTLE NATHRIA AND ILEVEL 184 REQUIRES MINIMAL GAMEPLAY!
You’re blaming the players for the horrendous drop rates. It’s not a big deal to have to wait for like 10 m+ (Most of the time it’s more than that now) , but then make it so you get decent upgrades and not duplicates or completely useless items
Weekly chest with multiple options so you can literally choose the best upgrade
Honor gear which can get you to base 184 ilevel and is very flexible in the sense that you can replace your weak parts with it (184 is good enough to clear normal nathria and gear up further)
Weekly quest that rewards heroic gear
Easy world bosses
Also 10 m+ for gear is a gross over exaggeration to make a point. If you do not time your key you have an 1 in 5 chance to get loot, the chances of that happening 10 times in a row are VERY small (also if you fail to time your chest 10 times in a row I’d be more worried about that)
You can complain all you want but if your expectations aren’t realistic that’s a YOU problem, not the games.
If you have a family, work, other obligations AND expect to gear up fast there is a problem. Like I said before; you only have to clear top floors of torghast, pump many M+ and rush rep with Ve’nari if you want to clear mythic content.
Having base 180-190 iLevel gear is enough to clear normal castle nathria.
That’s the best decision they’ve made in recent times. It was ridiculous that I couldn’t replace a season 3 trinket in BFA from a +8 until I got the same trinket from a +11 in season 4 due to it titanforging in season 3. On one char I had 4 pieces I couldn’t replace next season without going higher than the key I obtained them at in the previous season.
