People arguing with people in!

But starts a post regardless

I just dont care for streamers or whatever they are doing.
Id rather just play the game myself instead of watching someone play said game on a stream.

The only things i do watch are streams / live stuff from the MDI or arena championships but that fits in the same ballpark as watching the Soccer worldcup in my eyes.

For everything else viewable on the internet: id rather just play said game myself.

And there is nothing wrong with that, the biggest issue is hatewatchers who feel the need to watch someone they dislike and make posts about them on forums to express their hate and negativity instead of spending that extra energy and time on something they actually like. That mentality is the issue.

But hey, at the end of the day, they also give publicity to the streamers no matter what, resulting in more $ for said streamer.

But that happens everywhere, and has been a ‘‘thing’’ since social media took everything we do to be seen by everyone.
There are people ‘‘hatewatching’’ instagram people / facebook / keep taps on their exes through socials etc etc.

Its literally nothing new.

Yea of course this isn’t anything new but that doesn’t mean it’s not a stupid and useless thing to do.
If people actually cared about their time, they would do the same as you for example, simply not caring about streamers and content they don’t like.

yeah 100% agreed, and its silly to see people express such behaviour as you described.

It makes for a good laugh tho

It sure does. I feel the same way about movies or anything in life lately for the past few years, if i dislike something or someone, i’m just not gonna bother dealing with it. People who spend countless hours discussing something they dislike, hate so much are just
weird.

I do not hate streamers. :woman_shrugging:t3:

I think it’s great some can make a living out of playing games and streaming online, even getting sponsorship/partnerships etc.

I don’t watch any streams myself but lots of people do watch streams. I don’t see watching streams as any different to other forms of entertainment that people enjoy in their spare time.

I can understand that people are sometimes upset by streamers if their gameplay is disrupted. Streamers have big followings and often they will want to be in game with their idol/streaming personality.

If you don’t like a streamer, don’t watch them. It’s very easy. I don’t like football, I very easily avoid watching football matches

Everybody bashed BFA. This expansion is at a stage where it is an unpopular opinion to state you enjoyed it. Unlike WoD where you can say the expansion was alright but lacked content, you cannot say you liked BFA if you want any popularity. Everyone was bashing Retail even before Classic hype was a thing.

Had he done that, he wouldn’t be the biggest WoW streamer as everyone would leave his stream.

Gotta agree on this and to be fair most of the time the main issue is the streamer’s communities. A good example is xQc. He is a pretty cool dude, also a great streamer but his community is gatekeeping so hard (both in chat and Discord) it is almost impossible to actually join now.
There are people like that in every streamer’s chat but it varies in terms of numbers and it’s impossible to deal with it, even for the streamer itself.

Asmon could join a RP realm to simply level and play the game while telling his viewers to don’t follow him, they still would and it’s basically impossible to stop them from doing so. Streamers simply don’t have the power over their viewers except from the actual chat on their streams.

Streamers with bad intentions who try to ruin the game for others are usually ‘cancelled’, banned or whatever.
99% of the time it’s the viewers’ fault

Hmm, yes
 If
 popular people were bad
they wouldn’t be popular. What sound logic. Except not at all.

Probably because lilynore used a voice changer to deceive people?

And like I said I don’t care if they’re transgender or not that’s not of my concern.

Why use a voice changer just to get simps to pay you ingame gold? He’s already a laughing stock on the server because of his lies and disgusting guild.

is mindless sheep that blindly follow or defend every single thing they do without really having a clue.

U managed to cherrypick people who idolise streamers as gods. Great.
There are also people who enjoy streamers’ content without praising, worshiping them. You are talking in extreme examples.

They do actually

And it totally depends on how you act and impact your community

Plenty of big streamers that play that dont have enmasse of ‘stream snipers’, ya know?

You shouldn’t dwell on the opinions of others.
Just because someone posted that and it got a lot of likes doesn’t mean they’re right in their opinion.

Sure but it’s not something that happens with a Thanos snap in an instant. You completly missed the point where it was about a situation when he would ask his viewers to stop following him around.

You can be the nicest guy on the planet, sperg viewers will still follow you around because MOM IM ON STREM POGGERS

There are genuine nice actors too, yet they still get articles written about them that can completly change people’s view on said actors.
This is something that comes with fame, people hate on succesful people, no matter in what way they are succesful.

To take Asmongold as an example, even if he bashes the game often, he is one of the top streamers on Twitch, which I wouldn’t consider being a small feat by any means.

When he’s streaming, he often is in the Top 5-10 streamers on the platform and pulls World of Warcraft into the Top 10 streamed games as well.

Whether you like his content or not, he does pull a lot more eyes on the game and the possibility of people trying out the game themselves, that is more than individuals like us will ever be able to do for this game.

So it’s not surprising that some offenses are looked at with some leniency considering the merits of him being able to play the game outweigh any (minor) offense.

It is pure envy. How many of these wow players would like to play games themselves and make money with it. But not enough courage, talent, etc. Then all you have to do is hate

And to be fair, it is the perfect time to start streaming, most people are home. Streaming has a massive worldwide audience across several dozen games, it’s a leading category in digital media. It even withstood covid and provides entertainment 24/7.

But yeah, let’s hate on streamers because ReAsOnS
