To be honest I dont even want to argue about this, but streamers are a big reason why a game gets popular. (Or keeps being popular)

You can dislike them or consider one of them stupid, but they re still good for the community in their majority.

I made this post because I saw a comment with 40 likes saying that Asmongold is “talentless”.
You can think hes stupid because X reasons, but talentless? It seems more like a hateful comment.

We all know you could be the biggest streamer with 40k live viewers, or the raid leader of a wf guild or a blizzcon pvp player but you just dont want to because something.

Please, do not say to me “But Asmongold did this, hes stupid!!!”. I dont watch Asmongold and I dont care if hes the best person or not, but he is absolutely talented.

the reason i dislike streamers is because people like you cant shut up about them on the forums and keep shoving them into my face. Some people act like streamers are the literal god of the game they like

Yes, bad people tend to do good things sometimes. Amazing, but guess what? Doesn’t outweigh the suffering they cause. I’d advise you not to post towards me again, if you want to be able to keep going.

I put asmongold to the same category as twitch girl streaming about eating a sandwich and having her shirt so low and legs wide all the teens get hungry and not from the sandwich.
Not sure it takes talent to be reacting to other peoples videos and letting people boost you behind. Thats just my opinion.
Also i dont fan streamers i might watch some streams sometimes but not about wow, and believe me those people are way more talented than asmongold.

There is an audience for everything.
People usually overreact over girl streamers’ outfits while there is Knut who is literally a mountain of meat and people find it funny that he is bigger than most of other streamers…Sadly people are insanely sexist nowadays.
What comes down to ‘talent’ or ‘experience’ in the case of Asmon is being able to interact with your chat in a pretty good way when there are 40-60K viewers and constantly talk for hours.
The only real talent he has in the actual game is knowing most items’ drop locations, etc but that doesn’t have anything to do with the entertainment part of the stream.

His stream isn’t flashy or anything, he doesn’t have epic entrances, most people watch him because there is always a chance that he will get an item or mount drop and the reaction is always flawless.

He is the correct guy to stream WoW, hence why he doesn’t stream shooters or other games. He even explained this himself that he lacks the skill and he doesn’t want chat to be filled with people calling him out for it.

He became big by bashing, before that he was just the streamer people laughed at. He is still laughable for me.

Do you want an actual dissertation as to why Asmongold is talentless? I don’t think you do, do you. This thread, like the other is somewhat disingenuous. You just want to big up ‘Ya Boi’ without considering it objectively.

Tell me. How much performing talent does a corpse have? I don’t mean a WoW Forsaken, I mean a real life corpse? Are they a sublime actor? A charismatic presence? No. Yet they can still generate money for their descendents Tolkien’s estate isn’t doing badly, and last I heard the Christian Church isn’t short a few quid either.

Not really. They have a couple of default settings, and no range outside of that, so are pretty lacklustre, they seem to lack any introspection, which is actually an important skill for a performer to have, and their control of pitch and tone is absolutely abysmal.

I don’t get why these threads exist apart from his fanboi’s to squee over him when people say “Actually, no they’re a bit rubbish”

Can you highlight to me any way in which they are talented and/or skilled that does not come down to “they make money” as I say. Corpses can make money.

streamers are fine unless they are pretentious, dishonest yahoos, fame can do that to you if you aren’t already.
pretty sure i don’t have to name the names of some of those crestfallen ‘personalities’.
if internet people are honest, down to Earth, unbiased and factual then they’ll have my attention…otherwise…

Making claims like people hate all streamers based on that, they say they dislike a thing one streamer does.

You can dislike 1 streamer and still like another streamer it does not mean you dislike all streamers.
