Yes, they do that. Except it’s not a person who spams two buttons, but a clicker bot. No sane person would stalk vendor 24/7 every day.
May be they got timers and relog just in time, I don’t know. If the respawn is on a strict timer, it might work.

My guess is that the players defending the botters here are actually botters themself using that same method to cheat to make gold. They are just afraid that Blizzard notices it and does something.

Its a myth.
Blizzard doesn’t care about bots. There are several streamers live on twitch multiboxing with 40 accounts at the same time. They need to make the pattern soulbound. Its the only way.

Well last time I checked, pattern for runecloth bag which is sold for 1 gold and 20 silver is on AH for 90 golds…so ok its not 100x but 75x more expensive

Its is the definition of botting. You have a level 2 character on different layers programmed to buy the patterns off the vendors. Tell me how that is not botting?
I would perma ban all these people who are preventing people to reasonably skill up proffesions and thus ruining their gameplay

Which has no real impact on anyone.
If this happens on a pvp server and the patterns are on a contested area is easy to kill them.
The NPC in question is in a building in Everlook, with guards everywhere. Yes you can kill the level 2 bots with one hit, but you will die after.
