Another dungeon run, another round of DPS acting like children with ADHD rushing in and pulling everything and letting ME deal with the consequences while complaining that we’re going to slow. This is the reason so many tanks stay away from LFG. It really is a thankless job with no appreciation for the self-sacrifice we tanks go through to get YOU to the finish safely. For DPS it’s like hopping on a carnival ride. In the future any DPS reading this should show more understanding and appreciation towards tanks and stop making our job harder than it needs to be.
When I tank, I TANK.
If a DPS pull, I don’t taunt I let the DPS tank.
If they complain, “Ok get a tank that suits you then” and I’m out.
Just let them pull and stop caring. If they die, they die. If they don’t die but actually manage to survive the situation while dealing a lot of damage, no harm was done to you.
It’s not just the pulling, it’s the non-stop abuse tanks go through in pugs.
Just don’t give a damn, they need you more than you need them, you can just leave wait 15 min & get another insta Q they have to wait way more than you.
I never see this, actually. It’s more often that I see tanks who believe the group owes them something, but that is almost only in trivial content. I think you can get poorly behaving people in all three roles. Smooth runs are a team effort.
Mechanically, tank is the easiest role at present. The difficulty is the encounter knowledge that is required, though when I heal or dps in Timewalking, I frequently get tanks who say, “I have never been here, tell me if I need to know anything.” In M+ or raiding, though, encounter knowledge is crucial. I have never seen dps pulling for the tank in harder content.
I can tank myself if needed. I don’t actually care if pets taunt or if a dps accidentally pulls (if it’s non-accidental, I’d think my pacing may have been too slow), since it’s effortless to grab the agro. Letting people die to “make a point” just slows down the whole run and wastes my own time.
If a DPS pulls I let him deal with it.
I tank at my own pace and won’t pull a mob off you if you’re too impatient to wait.
Yet another topic from same person about exact same bs that seems to happend to him on a daily basis…
Also this wtf
You should go to the bathroom and slap yourself infront of the mirror to wake yourself up.
I just ignore them, if healer heal them out, his problem not mine.
Either healer get bored or leave, not my problem…
I did like 200 M+ runs aince I joined BfA in 8.2, never did I pull anything or saw someone pulling for a tank.
I call BS on this.
Or you’re one of those who stare at every pack and boss for 1 min before pulling in normal dungeons? Then yeah i understand your DPS running out of patience.
Imagine how healers feel during bursting tyrannical weeks with DPS players that don’t know how to not press buttons.
What does that have to do with the post?
Again, it’s bursting week now and everyone just stop at 3-4 stacks. No idea what kind of player pool you are running your dungeons with.
I tend to find it’s the tanks that cause an issue if anyone they pull half a dungeon then moan that the healer can’t keep them alive. Then they throw the toys out the pram and leave. I’m not saying every tank mabey 2 or 3/10
Dunno chief, its a whine post I’m tryna whine about healing.
To answer your question, players from 1 to 3k and since my druid mostly does 10s atm she gets the lower end.
You need to take in consideration u need initiative as a tank .
If you run high lvl keys players are used to do a lot of chain pulls and so on . game knowledge is a must .
Some dps’ers are just nabs who don’t know cd’s or how some tanks work . that’s a fact
Since we are whining about tanks and healers, I’ll complain about dps too. Did 5 timewalking dungeons on my hunt and it was infuriating that noone interrupts anything.
And if i don’t misdirect, I’ll pull aggro 100% with noone bothering to taunt it off.
Wiped repeatedly because of sh1t healer too.
So there, all wow players suck.
I hope you better now uwu
Well, you can find stereotypes for every role. Healers who stand in stuff and don’t know when to anticipate damage surges (then get overwhelmed), tanks who lose aggro in skittish weeks or don’t know when to kite in necrotic week (then blame the healer), dps players that tunnel mercilessly to top the meters.
At the end of the day, competent players play well and sub-par players play poorly. The role they pick doesn’t make them good or bad. And at a high enough content level, everyone in the group needs to know what they are doing.
Pretty much this. I don’t think I ever got hate when I mained tank in Legion. Makes you wonder
Diva tanks are the absolute worst though.
What’s an interrupt?
I kid. It is somthing I have noticed to. I just thought I was going mad.
