From my conversation with the players who want Classic+ to have higher level cap, the conclusion was these players:
want to discover new things
want new adventures
want to feel a new world with new mechanics (which they feel whenever they start levelling a new class, but they run out of classes soon)
And also:
they do not enjoy levelling the same class/race again several times
Conclusion:
What they enjoy is not “levelling”, but instead the joy of discovering new things.
Because those who supposedly want new level cap because they enjoy levelling, they don’t enjoy levelling, otherwise they would have a hundred characters level 60 and be happy (which is possible with connected realms). Instead, they think it is boring to level-up more than once or twice the same race/class… precisely because “levelling” is not what they actually enjoy: they enjoy discovering new things. It’s the discovery that they enjoy.
Solution
We can satisfy everyone by introducing new exciting content that neither raises the level cap nor introduces any new high-level gear better than Naxx or Rank14.
Is it easy? Different question. But assuming it is done, then it would satisfy everyone.
The problem
The problem is Blizzard is lazy, and they always choose the easy solution of adding new levels instead of doing some proper work finding new enjoyable and fun content that can be a fun “discovery” even at the same level.
On a side note, I think it is easy. The oceans in Classic-Era are completely unused, and dead empty. Lot of things could be done either at the surface or underwater. The underground world is not used either. Etc etc. And so many new game mechanics could be introduced if we really want to, interdependent fun game mechanics. And ideas for PvP too (a never-ending source of fun).
It’s an old game yo… People didn’t discover anything maybe because of auto-quest add-ons, they just follow guides. They don’t even know where is North, South, East and West because they are carried AF.
with that logic, when you’re driving a car and following a map to a destination, you only look at the map, everything that you pass on the way to that destination just doesn’t exist?
The problem you refer to still exists with new higher level cap. People use guides, addons, etc. Increasing the level cap does not solve this at all.
If your argument is «when it is new then guides do not exist yet»
Ok, but this is true for any new content. Even new content “at the same level 60” doesn’t have guides because it is new. Any new content, at whatever level, is new and doesn’t have guide. Increasing the level cap is irrelevant, no impact. All we need is something new, that’s all. It can be at level 60, no need for a higher level cap.
It doesn’t even have to be PVE by the way, it could be new PVP content.
There could be so much more interesting, complex, subtle, fun and exciting PvP mechanics… it doesn’t always have to be PVE. Most crowded servers are PvP servers for a reason, that’s what the community loves: PvP.
New PvP content in a new PVE area with wonderful new areas, new world mechanics, new everything just like a new level cap expansion, but instead of new level cap chasing for gear again, we chase the Alliance !
I have more HKs with this rogue than many PvP server players and i’m on PvE server (22k HKs only in Warsong before TBC). They don’t want PvP, they are just followers. Most PvP servers became one sided… Firemaw was 99% alliance, Gehennas was 99% horde = no PvP
Maybe Discord community’s fault; players join the enemy side
This was impossible in original Vanilla when there was no Inter-servers
M8, an honest question, no hidden agenda. Why do you guys talk so much about Classic +? Do you really think that blizz is capable of doing something like that? I mean, just look what have they done since the release of Classic in ( 2019 ? )… I mean there are some good points, and ideas, but i really cant believe anything of that is going to happen…
Yeah i like PvP so much but this AV grind is just terrible… I dont like doing the same raids over and over again, that’s why i play PvP, but " PvP " at this state is just sad…
